No One's Innocent For Long

My heart started to race and it was as if this fear scared my drunkness away.
"Crap." I muttered under my breath.
"Getout." said Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth, I can't." I hissed.
"GETTHEHELLOUT!" Elizabeth screamed.
In fear, I quickly opened the car door and got out. Elizabeth drove away, just as I heard a cop yell, "Hey! There she is!"
The next thing I knew, dozens of cops were around me and I was being dragged into my house.
They put me in a chair right across from my mom. My mom's eyes were sagging and her hair was frazzled; she looked like she hadn't slept in days. She looked right into my eyes, coldly.
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?" she screamed at me.
I felt shivers run down my spine as she scanned me over.
"I WAS WORRIED SICK LAST NIGHT. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" she bellowed, "AND WHY ARE YOU DRESSED LIKE A VEGAS SHOWGIRL?"
I looked down at my laugh and then looked up at her.
She had a disgusted look on her face.
"WHO ARE YOU?" she yelled, loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear.
She turned to the policemen and said, "Do whatever you want with her. I'm not gonna cope with this." and stomped up the stairs.

The police gave me a huge lecture and then they left. For the rest of the day, I had to take care of myself. My mom wouldn't even look at me.

At about 9:30 at night, while I was making myself a glass of milk, my mom came downstairs. She looked like she did earlier that day, tired and weak. She looked like she would go crazy any minute. I sat at the table and drank my milk.
I saw my mom take something out of the drawer, but I thought nothing of it.
That's when she turned to me, holding a knife, screaming, "GIVE ME MY DAUGHTER BACK!"
