first dont do wat lianax8 said to do cuz that will make things really bad since it was done over the fone AND u didnt do it your self. My best advice is to just go up to him and say "heyy im not sure if things are working out as well as they should. i think we would b better as friends. Is that okay?" that way its not hurting him to much

go up to him, hug him, and tell him how you feel. even though your shy, it will help. if he knows how you feel, maybe he will understand. & then hug him&say you still wanna be friends(if you do of course.)

have one of your best friends call or text him saying like hey **** just wants you to know that she needs some time alone right now and that she cant be in a relasionshipp.....(and all that) (;
