Ready
to Jump 17
I got after twenty minutes of crying on the
floor. I went upstairs and packed my things in a suitcase. I got
all my clothes, makeup, hair supplies, laptop, and Bryson's
sweatshirt. I was about to zip up my bag when I pulled out his
sweatshirt and put it on. It smelled like the cologne I bought him,
and tears rolled down my face slowly. It was noon when I finished
packing. I ran out of tears and just sat there on the edge of my
bed memorizing every detail of my room. I was quickly snapped out
of my daze when I heard the garage door open. I busted through my
door and down the stairs. It was Leah.
"Leah!" I yelled as I ran into her arms. I held her
tight.
"Jessa, I'm sorry. There's nothing I can do. I tried to change
Dad's mind, but he wouldn't budge."
"It's okay Leah. Just call me everyday."
"Of course. You know I love you. You're my sister."
"I love you too. What time is it?"
"Seven." She answered. Wow, I spaced out for seven hours.
What really hurt was that Bryson didn't come to check on me once.
How could he? I thought he cared about me. I guess he didn't. He
should know that I want him to see me before I leave even though I
stormed out of his house. He knows I love him.
"Where's Ayden and Johnny?"
"Well Stephen and them are at the zoo. They're staying there
for the night."
"Oh." I was said I couldn't say goodbye. I'll be back to
visit though so it'll be fine. "Well I'm gonna get rest
now."
"Alright. What time do you want me to wake you up?"
"Five thirty."
"Alright Jessa. See you tomorrow."
"Kay." I went up to my room exhausted. I collapsed
on my bed and fell asleep.

"Jessa, it's time to wake up."
"Okay." I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I put on a pair of
skinnies, a cami, and Bryson's sweatshirt. I walked downstairs with
my suitcase and saw Leah drinking a cup of coffee.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
"I know it sucks, but I'm sure you'll love Seattle."
"Doubt it, but thanks for trying." I said cracking a
small smile. Leah then got up, put her coffee mug in the sink, and
opened the front door. I followed dragging my bags behind me. I
entered her car, and she drove down the street. She slowed down in
front of Bryson's house, and I could feel her looking at me. I
pretended like I didn't notice, and she went back to the normal
speed when I didn't say anything. I stared out the window all the
way to the airport. I looked at everything because I knew I
wouldn't see it again in awhile. When we arrived at the airport,
Leah helped me getting my ticket and walked with me to the gate. My
Dad was there and smiled when he saw us. He talked to Leah for a
bit before we had to go. We got on the plane, and my Dad didn't
trying talking to me probably sensing that I wasn't happy
whatsoever. I got a window seat. I looked through the window when
we were taking off and I saw the sunrise in California for the last
time.
