“That bad, huh?” Ashley replied, slamming her
locker.
“Yup.” I said, after telling her about my night in
detail.
“Guess what?!” She said. I notice how much I hated
the way she said it.
“What?”
“Ty told me he loves me!!” She squealed.
“Really? That's great!” I said, pretending to be
exited. Just then, the new kid from yesterday walked up.
“Can I talk to Bailey for a minute?” He asked
Ashley.
“Sure.” She said, winking at me.
I gave her a confused look as she walked away.
“What?” I asked, as nicely as possible.
“I kinda like you.” He said, with a cocky smile.
“Oh?” I said, confused.
“I think I'll take you out on Saturday.” He said with
confidence.
“I can't.”
“Oh? And why is that?”
“I'm busy.” I said.
“Fine. Then your my girlfriend.”
“What?!”
“You heard me.” He kissed me on the cheek and
left.
“What?” I said again, to myself. This must be some
kind of joke.
Ashley came back over. “What happened?” She
asked.
“He... like, demanded me to be his girlfriend...”
“Oh, so he likes you?”
“I don't even know. It's gotta be some kind of
joke.”
She smirked, then quickly smiled to cover it. “Doubt it.
What makes you say that?”
“No guy ever asks me out.”
“Whatever.” She said, as the bell rang.
