I used to always wear my glasses.
No one ever saw me without them.
I hid my looks behind my lenses and was
afraid to show the way I really look.
I was afraid he would think different of me.
But then my glasses came off, the whole school saw the person
who hid behind the lenses of a pair of glasses,
& most importantly, he saw the one he's been dating
show her brown eyes. He looked at me and smiled
the first time he saw me without them.
Later that night I then asked him what
he thought of me with contacts
because i saw that smile on his face.
He told me he'd tell me in school.
For the next three days after that I asked him to
tell me what he thought. He didn't tell me. I gave up on asking him.
Then, walking down the hall on the way to 9th period, he said,
"Do you wanna know what I thought about your contacts?"
I said, "Yes!" He told me,"Okay," and I giggled.
I knew he wasn't gonna tell me right then.
I was at my locker while he was on his way to 9th period.
He stopped at my locker, grabbed my arm, and whispered in my ear,
"You look gorgeous."
