How to Write Good Quotes

Tips from long-time users

I Recently asked some long-time Witty Profiles users where their inspiration for writing meaningful quotes comes from. Here are some of the responses.
be true to yourself and show it in your quotes.
stuff that makes me upset/ what im going through and to not be worried about what other people think
Write from your heart. &heart;
Write what you feel, don't worry about what others think about what you wrote.
show who you truly are and dont hide behind a wall. be social.
Don't use fake photos, dont do " fave if "quotes, dont go desperate for a fake guy on witty, dont do over used quotes. be your self and make original quotes.I got some-what far with that.
Be true to yourself. It's not all about faves. Sometimes, a little inspiration can go along way. Whether you get 1 fave or 1000000 faves, it doesn't matter. post what YOU want. It's not all about formatting or funny things. Sometimes, you need to post the truth.
Express yourself, and don't care about what anyone thinks
Write about what's important to you & about what could inspire others. Be a role model. It's not all about faves, be original where you can :)
But honestly, right about yourself. Express yourself with your own words...maybe even with song lyrics (I do that a lot). Witty isn't a place for "facts" about One Direction and stuff. It's about us Wittians and our feelings and the things we are going through. And the occasional song lyrics....just for my sake, lol.
Be creative and original! I hate seeing old quotes over and over again. They're nice and all but be ORIGINAL. Just like you all are. :)
you got to live through your quotes. you got to feel like its part of you. its poetry from the heart. you take your thoughts in put them into a work of art into a gallery known as wittyprofiles.com =) (so corny...but you'll get it =))
Post what you want, really. But, not random facts or surveys, or contest links. Post quotes that you want. Lyrics, quotes of celebrities, quotes from your mind. If something made you smile, post it; if you're feeling sad and want to write a quote about, post it. If you saw something on tumblr, you enjoyed it, post it (but don't let that be your only quotes, come up with some original ones, too). Your profile is a personal thing and you shouldn't let people dictate the quotes, main word---quotes, you post. Follow the rules, be nice, and post what you want. Don't care if people favorite your quote, don't worry if it looks pretty, just post.
Post what you think is inspirational and post what's on your mind. Don't care about how it looks or how many faves you'll get, just be yourself. The most "famous" users are the ones who started by being themselves, not by making "fave and I'll follow!" or "fave if....." quotes but good quotes that other people liked. And everyone's getting tired of the 1D quotes and hate quotes and the "pray for" quotes; enough is enough. After 4 years on witty, I've seen it go through a lot and right now there's no creativity in it.
To new users: write what comes from the heart, not from someone else's.
Don't take things from Facebook, Tumblr, etc. Say what YOU think. Not what someone else wrote. No one wants to read that over and over again.
I just like to make quotes that will mean something. I like to know I tugged at people's emotions or made them smile or laugh. My advice would be to just post what you feel. Don't post something you don't believe in or agree with, because witty is a place where you can be 100% you!(:
Write from the heart. Don't jock or post anything about 1D. Treat everyone as you'd like to be treated, and just make new friends!
:)
