Amy's POV
"You've got to be kidding me, Mom."
"I'm sorry, hun. I tried to talk to him, he won't listen." She says softly.
"Does this even look like an engagement ring? No, I didn't think so." I tell her, not even letting her reply.
"I tried to tell him."
"You didn't try hard enough, leave me alone, please." I tell her.
"Don't be rude to me, Amy." My mom tells me sternly.
"Whatever." I roll my eyes.
My mom walks out of my room and closes the door.
I grab my iPhone and look out my window to the tree.
I could easily get out and climb down the tree because of all the branches.
I'm scared, but I'm going to do it anyway.
I put my iPhone in my pocket, and slowly open my window to avoid any screeching noises.
I slowly get on to the tree and climb down, making sure each branch is safe to step on.
I start running so my parent's don't see me outside.
I take out my phone and dial Carson's number.
"Amy?"
"Carson." I answer breathlessly. "I'm coming over."
"Woah, woah, woah. Amy, do your parents know?"
"Of course not, it's fine though!"
"Amy don't do this."
"Bye, see you soon!" I hang up and stop running to catch my breath.
Not even 10 minutes later, I arrive at Carson's to see him waiting outside.
Once he sees me, he starts jogging towards me, and pulls me into a hug.
"My dad said I can't date you and you can't come over." I tell him, letting a tear fall.
"This isn't happening. Please tell me this isn't happening." Carson says.
"We'll make it work, I promise."
Carson looks down at me and gives me an assuring smile.
"I can't believe I finally have you and now I might not be able to."
"Carson, we're not breaking up. I promise."
But as soon as I say that, my mom and dad arrive in their car and so does my brother.
"Amy, get in this car immediately!"
NOTE: AHHHHHH. Sorry for not updating. I've been sick and such.. I know it's short, but it's almost over so :(

Amy's POV
"Dad, it's a promise ring from Carson. Calm down." I tell him.
"Oh, Amy. Do you think I'm stupid? I know what that is!" My dad yells at me.
My dad never yells at me, so this is actually scaring me.
My dad starts walking out of the kitchen and upstairs.
"Dad, would you calm down!" I yell, chasing after him.
"Carson! How dare you propose to my daughter? She is only sixteen!" My dad yells at Carson.
"Sir, that is a promise ring. I didn't propose." Carson trys to reason with him.
"You teenagers are unbelieveable nowadays! Carson you are no longer aloud here. My daughter is going to graduate, go to college, get married, and then have kids. She will NOT be getting married at sixteen."
"DAD! WE'RE NOT GETTING MARRIED!" I yell.
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH, AMY." My dad turns to me. "And you, get out, don't come back here."
Carson stares at my dad, then looks at me, and then just walks out of my room.
"Carson, don't leave." I start walking after him.
"Your dad doesn't want me here anymore or even near you. I need to go." Carson sighs and walks out the door.
I can hear my mom, dad, and Mitch fighting upstairs about the whole situation.
Even my mom is on my side and Carson's.
I was so furious and sad right now, I sat down on the couch and just cried.
My dad walks downstairs and looks at me. "I don't regret making him leave, but I am sorry for yelling at you."
"NO!" I yell at my dad. "Don't talk to me, don't even come near me." I tell him, walking back up to my room.
"Amy, get down here!"
"No!" I yell back down, and slam my bedroom door shut.
About ten minutes later, I hear a soft knock on the door.
"Go away." I tell the person.
"It's me, dear." My mom says softly.
"Fine, come in." I grunt.
My mom walks in and sits down. I can tell by the look on her face, there's something bad she needs to tell me.
"Please don't be mad at me." My mom whispers.
"What's going on?" I ask anxiously.
"Your father doesn't want you dating Carson or being even near him. I tried to reason with him, but he wouldn't listen."

Carson's POV
"What do you mean, Carson?" Amy asks hurt.
"I'm already broken, Ames. I don't want to get hurt again."
Amy gets closer to me and grabs my hands. "Carson, I'm not going to hurt you."
"Are you really sure you like me? You really wanna do this?" I ask her.
"Yes, I'm 100 percent sure, Carson."
"Thank god, because I love you, Amy. And don't say you love me back because you don't."
"Yes I do, Carson. I love you."
"You really mean that?" I ask.
"I promise you that." She smiles.
We walk into her house and she takes me up to her room.
I got her something today but I'm nervous to give it to her. I don't want her to change her mind about me or think what I'm doing is too quick. But I've been in love with her and that's all that matters. I'm just going to give it to her.
"Ames, I got you something today.." I start out.
"Really, what is it?" She aks me with a huge smile on her face.
"Uh, close your eyes." I tell her.
Once she closes her eyes, I take out the promise ring, and put it on her finger.
It was silver, with two hearts. One heart said her name, the other said mine. Then on the outside it says, "Forever & Always."
"Open." I whisper.
Amy stares at the ring in awe. I don't know if she's happy or freaked out. Hopefully she's happy.
I bite my lip and stare at her unexpectedly.
"Carson.." She breathes. "It's beautiful."
A tear slides down her cheek and I quickly wipe it. "What's wrong?"
"I just wish I could've realized this sooner. I wish I realized I love you before because being with you feels amazing."
"Well don't cry because I'm here now, and I will be forever and always." I smile and kiss her.
"You're truly the best, Carson."
Amy and I talked a little longer about school and the future. I never pictured this happening.
People say teens can't love, but I want to spend the rest of my life with Amy.
I want to get married to her and have a family.
I love her and she's amazing.
"I'll be right back, I'm going to get a drink." Amy smiles and gets up.
"Hurry back!" I joke.
I lay there waiting for Amy, but I hear her father yell which is uncommon.
"AMY WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR FINGER!"

Amy's POV
"Well, I'm off to dinner. I'll see you soon." Carson smiles and leans down to give me a kiss. "Bye Mitch!"
Carson walks out the door and I just turn around and smile to myself.
"Are you guys official yet?" Mitch asks me.
"No, he hasn't asked and I'm getting worried." I tell him honestly.
"Don't worry, Amy. He's probably just waiting for the right moment." Mitch smiles at me and then walks back down to the basement to play xbox, I'm guessing.
It's been a week since things happened between Carson and I.
He walked me to every single class, gave me kisses each time he could, and even text me while he was downstairs in my own house.
He just hasn't asked if I would be his girlfriend. I feel like it's kind of weird, but like Mitch said, he's probably waiting for the right moment.
Today he is out going out to dinner with his grandparents and his parents. Yes, his parents. His grandparents want to treat him with more respect now. After his parents found out he tried to committ suicide, they realized their horrible mistake, and are going to see him today. I know he might not forgive them right away, I just hope everything goes well.
I'm not going to see him for a couple days, so it's going to be boring, but oh well.

I'm getting worried more and more every minute. I've sent about five messages to Carson on kik and he has read all of them and not replied.
On kik you can see when the message is read and when they're typing. He has read them all and not replied.
Maybe he's just too busy eating...
Just then my iPod goes off, signaling a message from kik.
Carson sent me a message saying, "Meet me on your porch in five minutes."
Oh my gosh.. This is it. Carson is going to ask me to be his girlfriend. I quickly put on a little eyeliner and comb my hair.
I then step outside to see Carson staring down, he looked sad and worried.
"Carson what's wrong?"
"Ames.."
"Yes?" I ask worried.
"There's no easy way to say this..." Carson starts out, looking me in the eyes.
"Well, what is it Carson?" I stared to feel sick.
"I don't think we should be together."

Amy's POV
"Uhm, sure.. what is it?" I ask Carson.
I'm a little scared and shocked.
"I wish that you would stop thinking all this bullcrap." He tells me.
Well that's not what I was expecting...
"What do you mean, Carson? What I said was true!" I defend myself.
"Amy, no! You don't love me! You never did until I was possibly dead. You just think you love me, okay? If you really loved me before, why wouldn't you tell me before?" Carson asks, his eyes getting watery.
"I think I loved you this whole time, I just didn't want to admit to myself." I frown.
Carson shakes his head. "Notice how you said 'think,' see Amy you don't. Now stop telling people you love me, just stop." Carson stands up.
"But I do!" I tell him standing up.
"Prove it to me then!" He yells. "Because I'm never going to believe you."
I can't believe I'm going to do this. I can't believe our first kiss is when I kiss him first.
But, I have to do it.
I take a step foward so I'm closer to him, and I can feel Carson tense up.
He's probably always wanted to be this close to me.
I put my arms around his neck and lean up closer, as he leans down.
His lips crash down onto mine and I guess you could say I've never felt this before.
I always thought that when people say you get a spark with this person you love was a myth.
But I felt something with Carson and I didn't ever want to stop.
I love Carson and I always have.
We both end the amazing kiss and I blush at Carson as he looks down and smiles.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for that." Carson tells me.
My face gets even more red and Carson starts laughing.
I've never been so shy around Carson so I decide to be my confident self and say something back.
"Well you can keep doing it, if you want." I bite my lip.
And that's how the night ended. We kissed, and kissed, and kissed, then watched TV, oh and..
We kissed.

Amy's POV
The party we held for Carson got over a few hours ago.
Things became awkward after I told Carson no one could compare to him either.
He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing ever came out.
Then he just got up and walked over to Kenny.
Cole is still over and I'm glad we're still friends.
"So did anything happen between you and Carson?" He questions.
"No!" I pout. "He thinks it's all in my head because he tried killing himself and I realized he could be gone forever. But I know I have strong feelings for him, I just never wanted to admit it."
"He'll come around eventually, Amy. He loves you." Cole smiles slightly.
I frown. "I'm really sorry about everything between us."
Cole shrugs his shoulders. "It's fine. I can't really do anything about it, but hey, I'm going to get going. I'll see you later." Cole gets up.
I wave to him and wait for him to close the door before I walk out.
As soon as Cole leaves, my mom comes in my room.
This obviously means she needs to talk to me about something.
"Hello darling." My mom smiles, sitting down next to me on my bed.
"Uh, hi. What do you need?" I question.
"What? Your mother can't come in to say hello?"
"Mom, what is it?" I glare at her.
My mom smiles. "I just feel like your really upset about Carson. I know you're young, dear, but I do believe you love Carson. I've just been waiting for you to realize it."
"Well I did. At the wrong time. And he's never going to believe me." I let a tear fall.
"Awe, baby, don't cry. Talk some sense into him."
"He won't believe me. I've tried."
"Well, try harder babygirl." My mom smiles and walks out of my room.
When she opens the door, I could just barely see Carson's head poking around the corner.
He was listening.
Maybe now he will believe me.
Five minutes later, Carson walks in.
"Hey Amy!" Carson smiles like he doesn't know anything.
"Carson, hi." I mumble.
"Can we talk about what happened at the hospital?"

Carson's POV
I'm finally out of hospital, thank god.
I'm going over to Mitch and Amy's because they are throwing me a party.
It feels weird every one knows about me trying to committ suicide already.
I made my way over to Mitch's house and slowly opened the door without knocking.
This place is basically my own home.
"WE LOVE YOU, CARSON!" A bunch of people scream when I walk in.
I smile at every one here. Mitch, Amy, their parents, Kenny, Cole, Sammi, and a couple other people from school.
I was quite surprised that Cole and Amy weren't next to each other.
I'll admit I'm still sad about everything, but as long as she's happy, I'm happy.
She means the world to me.
"Hey, man." Mitch comes over to me and smiles.
"Hey, dude what's up with Amy and Cole?" I ask.
Mitch laughs. "They aren't dating, obviously."
"Oh, god. Please tell me she doesn't really think she loves me."
Mitch shrugs his shoulders and smirks, then walks off.
I grab some punch and make small talk with Mitch and Amy's parents.
Their mom hugs me like crazy which makes me feel a whole lot better.
I sit down and soon enough, Sammi sits down next to me.
"Carson, hi." She smiles big.
"How are you, Sammi?"
"Good, but I wish you would've accepted my invitation." She winks.
"I just don't think it'd seem right while I'm deeply in love with someone else."
Sammi sighs. "Why do you even love her? She's younger than you, and I'm like, the hottest girl in school? How can you not want me?" She asks.
"Maybe because your looks aren't as good as your personality. No one could ever compare to Amy, I'm madly in love with her, and I will always will be. Honestly, I think you shoud leave."
Every one got silent in the room and was currently staring at Sammi and I.
Sammi looks around and then just runs out.
Amy walks over to me and sits down.
"No one could ever compare to you either, Carson."

I can't believe I actually just told Carson my feelings for him.
The worst part? He starts laughing. Hysterically laughing.
"What's so funny?" I question.
"Ames, you're being silly. You think you love me because I might've been dead. It's all in your head." He tells me.
I give a little fake laugh. "Yeah, you're right!" I poke him in the shoulder.
Even though he isn't right. I feel like I have been in love with him for so long but I just didn't want to tell him. When I found out that he is in love with me, I felt butterflies in my stomach, but I tried to tell myself I have no feelings for you.
"Come here, Ames." Carson puts his arms out.
I lean foward and hug Carson. Gosh, it felt so right.
I don't even want to let go.
"Amy, you've been hugging me for like five minutes." Carson laughs.
"Sorry, I didn't realize." I blush.
"Well, you better get going." Carson slightly smiles.
"Okay, I'll see you later." I smile.
I walk out of his room and see Mitch and Kenny waiting.
"I tried to tell him. He laughed and said it is all in my head." I tear up.
"Give him some time. He just overdosed." Mitch comforts me.
"Look, I just need to go meet up with Cole. I need to end things." I frown.
"I'll take you." Kenny offers.

I knock softly on Cole's front door.
This isn't going to be easy.
I just told Cole that we're back together. I told him nothing is going on between Carson and I.
It's going to seem like everything I said to him was a lie.
Cole opens the door. "Amy, what are you doing here?"
"We need to talk." I tell him.
Cole lets me in and we both go and sit on his couch.
"What is it, Amy? I heard about Carson." Cole tells me.
I was surprised he actually cared.
"Me and you, aren't working out anymore." I mumble.
"You finally figured it out, didn't you?" He asks.
I look up at Cole, confused. "What do you mean?"
"Amy, I know you love Carson. They way you look at him, they way you act around him. I was just hoping you'd forget about him and fall in love with me. I'm not even going to be mad at you."
NOTE: I'm really sorry I didn't do Carson's POV, I felt like it needed to be in Amy's. But you can pick the POV for the next chapter :D

Carson's POV
I started writing my suicide note as soon as I got home.
I didn't know who to adress it, so this is how it went
Dear, well, eveyone,
I think it's time for me to leave this place. I've lost every one around me. My parents, my brother, Mitch, and Amy. There really isn't a reason for me to be alive any longer. Amy, I understand you want to be with Cole, but you led me on so many times. I hope he treats you right because you deserve to be treated like you're the only girl alive. You're beautiful and it's true, I love you. And Mitch, I'm sorry I flipped out. We've been best friends for years, but it's time for me to go. I'll miss you Amy, Mitch, Kenny, and whoever else even cares for me.
Love, Car.
Then I walk over to my cupboard and grab my pills.
Amy's POV
Reading this note killed me.
There's also one other thing that I realize.
And I realized it too late.
I like Carson, I might even love him.
He might even be gone.
I look over to see Mitch and Kenny silently crying, not saying a word.
"Do you, uh, wanna go to the hospital?" Kenny asks.
I nod my head and I start crying even harder.
Mitch sat with me in the back of Kenny's car and hugged me.
"He's going to be fine." Mitch whispers.
"I love him, Mitch. I realized it too late." I cry to him.
The car ride was silent to the hospital, and when we arrived I waited silently behind Mitch and Kenny ask they asked the lady what room Carson was in.
I let Mitch and Kenny go in first. They came out 10 minutes later and they were smiling.
"He's alive?" I ask, worried.
Mitch nods and tears of happiness spill from his eyes.
I open the door and Carson slightly smiles at him.
"Gosh, Carson.. I'm so sorry." I whisper as I sit on his bed next to him.
"It's fine. Mitch told me how you asked him and he tried lying. I guess you were going to find out sometime." Carson smiles.
I smile back and Carson sighs.
"What's wrong?" I question.
"A failed suicide? There's going to be so much talk when I go to school."
"Carson, everyone loves you. They're going to be relieved you're not.. dead." I could barely even say dead.
"Look, I just want every thing to go to normal. You be with Cole, because I want you to be happy. I'll find someone else someday. You just being happy means the world to me."
"Carson, I need to tell you something." I tell him kind of scared.
"What is it, Ames?"
The words tumble right out of my mouth before I can even stop myself.
"I love you."

Carson stared at me shocked, but you could also see a hint of anger in his eyes.
I can't belive I just said that. I was supposed to keep my mouth shut.
"Carson, you told me you would never lie to me. So tell me the truth." I tell him.
I caused this, I needed to finish this.
"Who told you? Huh?" Carson asked, his eyes were getting watery.
I'm sure Casron wanted to cry because of sadness and anger.
"I heard you and Kenny, then Mitch confirmed it."
"So you knew this whole time and you continued to lead me on? How pathetic can you get, Amy?"
"No, Carson.. I wasn't leading you on." I try to tell Carson.
Carson stares at me with disbelief and starts walking out to the living. I watch as Mitch walks over to Carson and says something but Carson yells at him also.
"And as for you, I don't care if she's your sister, we've been best friends for years and you told me you'd never tell her."
"Bro, you don't get it." Mitch trys to get Carson to understand.
"Save it for someone who cares." Carson shakes his head and slams the door on his way out.
Mitch looks down and I wouldn't be surprised if he started crying.
About three years ago, Carson was with his brother and they got in a car crash. His brother died, but Carson made it--barely.
Ever since then Mitch always gets scared about losing Carson because he's the brother he never had.
They were like girl best friend's. They were always together and rarely got in fights.
"Mitch I'm sor--" I go to say to Mitch.
"Don't talk to me, Amy!" Mitch yells, looking towards me. "You need to understand you can't play with people's feelings. Especially Carson's. You ruined everything."
I watch as my brother walks down the stairs to the basment, slamming the door on his way down.
I hate myself for this.

A few hours later my phone goes off in my pocket and I was surprised to see a text from Kenny.
I've tried calling and texting Carson but he never picks up.
Mitch still isn't talking to me, which just breaks my heart even more.
I hate that Carson lost both me and Mitch, because he has no one else.
He's been on antidepressants for a long time.
After his brother died, he tried killing himself because his parents left him because they said he was the cause of his brother's death.
I click read and my mouth dropped as I read the message. Tears started spilling from my eyes.
Kenny: Carson is in the hospital because he overdosed. He also left a note and I think you need to read it. Also, he might not make it.

Carson's POV
I was currently walking over to Mtch and Amy's.
I decided that I wouldn't go on a date with Sammi because it's not fair to her if I love someone else.
I know me and Amy will never be together, but I know when another girl will be the right one to date.
As soon as I arrive at Mitch's, I walk right up to Amy's room and open the door.
Guess what I see? Amy and Cole kissing.
"Sorry, my bad." I close the door quickly.
I quickly walked into the bathroom and let a couple tears fall.
I hate seeing her with Cole. I can't believe she got back together with him.
It's official, I'm done talking to Amy.
I can't do it anymore.
How can I keep talking to her, acting like everything is fine, when I love her? How can I keep smiling, when Cole is the one that gets to hug her and kiss her? I really don't get how sometimes, she makes me think she likes me when I know she doesn't.
"Carson, you in there?" Mitch's voice says.
I wipe my tears. "Yeah, bro." I open the door.
"I take it you found out?" Mitch questions.
"Yeah, I'm done talking to her, Mitch. Sorry."
"I understand, but she won't. Just ignore her and hopefully she gets the idea."

"Bye, Cole!" I hear Amy's cheerful voice fill the living room.
Instead of being in the basment, Mitch and I were playing COD in the living room.
"Ignore her. Remember." Mitch whispers.
As soon as he says that, Amy comes over.
"Hi Carson!"
I keep playing COD and don't say a word, but my face basically says it all.
I look mad. I've looked mad ever since earlier.
"Carson what's wrong?" Amy questions.
I continue to ignore her.
"Answer me now!"
"Holy Amy, leave him alone!" Mitch yells.
"I'll handle it quickly." I whisper to Mitch.
I grab Amy's arm and drag her out to the kitchen.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm done with you. That's it. Don't talk to me anymore, kay Amy?" I tell her and then go to walk away.
"Wait, Carson, is it because..?"
I turn around again. "Because of what?"
"Because you love me?" Amy asks sadly.

Cole's POV
"Did he give it to you?" Mike, one of the seniors, ask.
"No, he said he didn't have any." I grunt.
I was acting like I cared, I was actually happy we weren't getting any.
I didn't like smoking because when my older brother used to do it, he went insane, and always abused me.
I only do it because the guys probably wouldn't like me.
"Don't worry my friends, I've got some." My friend Ricky says, waving a bag full of pot in front of our faces.
"Yes, thank god!" Another senior named, Darin, yells.
My phone vibrates and I thank my mom for saying I needed to come home.
"Crap, I've got to go home, my mom text me." I show them the message.
They all sigh but then walk off to go get high like they do every day.

When I enter my house my mom is nowhere to be seen.
"Mom?" I call out.
"Cole!" My mom says, walking downstairs. "Good you're home."
"What did you need?" I ask.
"I'm flying to Colorado to see your grandmother, she's very ill. Will you be okay here alone for a few days?"
"Yeah, tell grandma I love her."
My mom nods her head, grabs her bags, and then walks out the door.
I can't believe my grandmother is ill, she never gets sick.
I decide to text Amy and this is how our conversation went:
Me: Amy, please text me back.
Amy: What do you want, Cole?
Me: I'm sorry, I need to understand that Carson is just your best friend.
Amy: Obviously, Cole. And Kenny already told me you asked for pot, so don't text me.
Me: I didn't do any. It was for the guys and I'm at home anyway. I promise.
Amy: You break promises.
Me: I'll treat you better this time Amy, I need you in my life. Please, be my girlfriend again?
Amy: You'll just keep lying to me.
Me: Amy, I won't. I need you and I realize this now.
Crap, I realize this now. Why did I say that?
Amy: Should've realized it awhile ago
Me: What I meant was I realize that you'll actually leave me and well, I can't deal with that.
10 minutes later, Amy finally replies.
Amy: This is your last chance, boyfriend.

Kenny's POV
"Hey, Kenny!" I hear someone yell my name.
I was currently walking home from Mitch's house.
We played Black Ops 2 for most of the day.
I turn around to see Cole quickly putting a cigarette out, as if I didn't see him.
"What do you want, Cole?"
Honestly, I didn't like Cole. He lies to Amy too much.
"Amy and I broke up. Do you..have any pot?"
"Cole, really? You aren't into that stuff."
"Me and the guys want it." Cole smirks.
"I don't have any."
Cole glares at me. "Whatever, and oh yeah, Kenny? Stop telling Amy everything. Learn how to lie."
"Sorry, bro. I'm not you." I smirk before turning around and heading towards my house.
People know me as the honest guy.
But people don't know that much stuff about me at all.
Not even Mitch or Carson.
Something people don't know is that I was adopted, and when I found out I became diganosed with severe depression. Ever since, I've been into heavy drugs.
Sometimes I wonder how people never realize it.
To everyone I'm this happy, honest guy.
I'm really a broken guy.
I really don't want people to know about my past, so I fake everything.
I don't lie to people because I've been lied to practially my whole life.
Another thing probably bad for me is that, I think Amy is the most beautiful girl in the world.
Carson loves her though.
I don't think I'd ever try to get with her.
I mean sure she's beautiful, but there's plenty of girls out there for me.
And no one loves Amy more than Carson.
NOTE: I picked Kenny and next is Cole! So, this chapter was boring but since you all wanted to know about the mysterious Kenny, here's his past :D

Mitch's POV
"Alright, see you later Kenny!"
Kenny just left after our little session with playing Black Ops 2.
"You staying the night, Carson?" I question.
"Yeah, when don't I?" Carson laughs. "But, I'll be right back. I need your mom to sign this detention slip."
I shake my head at Carson and laugh a little.
Most people would be annoyed if their best friend is in love with their little sister.
Me? I'm not.
He doesn't talk about his love for her that much because he doesn't want to become annoying.
I actually feel bad for him because Amy is constantly leading him on. Even if she doesn't realize it.
Tonight I kind of want to get him to talk to me about Amy because I think he needs to let everything out.
And who knows Amy more than her own big brother?
No one.
Amy is probably the most stupid person for not knowing.
"Mitch?" I hear Amy whisper my name.
"Yes?" I turn around.
"Where's Carson?"
"Asking mom something, why?"
"I need to talk to you!" Amy tells me urgently.
I walk closer to her. "What is it?" I whisper.
"Carson is in love with me, isn't he?" She whispers.
"No." I lie.
"You looked away, you're lying!" She yells.
"Quiet down, Amy!" I shush her. "Carson doesn't want you to know, so don't say anything."
"Why wouldn't he want me to know?"
"Because he knows you don't feel the same. How do you even know anyway?"
"I overheard him and Kenny.."
"Well, Amy, all I have to say is stop leading on. You make me so mad when you do that crap."
"I do not!" She whisper-screams.
"Just go, Carson is coming!" I hear footsteps.
Amy runs off and Carson looks at her weirdly.
"What was that about?"
"Nothing."
"Oh, well anyway, I have the perfect way to get over your sister."
"What's that?" I question.
"Sammi."
"What do you mean, Sammi?" I wonder.
Sammi is probably the hottest girl in my grade.
She has light brown hair and hazel eyes.
"She wants to go on a date with me. Weird, right?"

"You basically just broke up with your boyfriend because you wanted me to be your best friend."
"Well yeah, I've known you for a long time. You've never lied to me and well, he has." I tell him honestly.
"I would never lie to you, Amy."
"Good, then can I ask you a question?"
"Shoot." He smirks.
Time to get you to lie, Carson....
"Who do you like?"
Carson's eyes go wide and when he goes to answer, my brother interrupts.
"Come on, Carson. Kenny is here and Black Ops awaits." Mitch smirks.
Carson sighs with relief and walks out. "Got to go, Amy!"
Ugh, I wonder what he was going to say..

Carson's POV
That was a close one.
"Thank god, Mitch. You just saved me!" I say to Mitch.
"Why what was going on?" Mitch asks.
"Amy just asked who I liked and I froze up." I tell Mitch and Kenny.
Yes, Mitch knows I'm in love with his sister. And Kenny is our best friend, so yeah he knows.
Even though he can't lie and hopefully she doesn't ask him.
"I think she heard me and you talking during study hall." Kenny says.
"Why?"
"Well for one, her face was as red as a tomato and she just asked who you liked. She definitely heard you." Kenny explains.
"I'll just tell her it was about someone else."
"I thought you would never lie to her?" Kenny and Mitch ask at the same time.
"I don't want to lie to her, but this is something I need to keep from her."
It would ruin our friendship..
NOTE: So whose POV for the whole chapter? It can be Amy, Cole, Mitch, Carson, or even Kenny.

What did he mean?
Who does he love?
Does he love me?
Oh. My. Gosh.
No, no, no. He doesn't love. My best friend Carson does not love me.
He was talking about someone else.
"Hey guys, can I talk to Carson?" I interrupt their strange conversation.
Carson and Kenny jump and I can tell Carson is nervous that I just heard everything he said.
Which I did.
"Yeah, talk to you later Carson." Kenny says walking off.
Carson glares at me. "What do you want Amy?"
"For you to forgive me."
"I don't want to forgive you." Carson says, avoiding eye contact.
"Look, we've been best friends for so many years. And you're going to let one fight ruin our friendship?"
Because he loves you and you called him a liar and a horrible best friend.
"You know Cole is a liar and you actually believed him. I've never lied to you, Ames. I never will."
"I'm sorry. I only believed him because he actually promised.."
"Well your boyfriend breaks a lot of promises." Carson says, and then walks off.

"What's number two?" I ask Cole.
It was after school and Cole and I were doing some homework together.
Carson didn't talk to me at all. He only glared at me.
I saw him in the hallways always smiling and then when he saw me, he would frown or look angry.
"Why do you sound and look so sad, Amy? It's annoying me."
"Nothing is wrong!" I lie.
"It's about Carson, isn't it?" Cole asks.
"Maybe..."
"Oh my gosh, Amy. Get over it!"
This made me angry.
How could Cole even say that to me? He was the one who lied to me, and made me think Carson was the liar.
"Excuse me?"
"I said get over it, Amy! You and him were too close for my liking anyway. Who cares if you aren't friends, you have me."
"Really Cole? Carson is a whole lot better than you. All you care about is your popularity! You lie to me constantly about every single thing! All Carson ever did was care for me and he never lied to me. Not once. I'd rather have him as my best friend than for you to be my boyfriend!"
"If you really mean that, I'll leave." Cole says sternly.
"Good." I grit my teeth. "Get out."
Cole stands up, grabs his things, and slams the door shut.
A tear falls from my eye. Not because of Cole but because of Carson.
My door opens and I look over to see who it is.
"I forgive you."

Carson and I still aren't friends, and today I go back to school.
Carson may be in a higher grade than me, but we have a study hall together and lunch.
Two classes that we're always together in.
People are going to think it's so weird without Carson and I always joking around.
A tear dropped from my eye, and I quickly wiped it away.
"Amy! I'm leaving for school! Hurry up!" My brother yells.
I grab my bag and rush downstairs and out the front door.
I hop in the passenger seat of my brother's car.
The ride to school was silent.
We go to school and finally my brother looks at me.
"Look, Carson will get over it eventually, trust me." Mitch tells me.
"I don't think so." I tell Mitch, getting out of the car and walking into school, over to Sierra.
"He still isn't talking to you?" Sierra asks.
"No, but why would he?" I answer sadly.

"Why aren't you and Amy talking?" Kenny whispers.
It's lunch and all the guy are whispering to Carson about me, thinking I can't hear.
"Because she called me a horrible best friend and a liar." Carson responds loudly.
I was getting sick of his attitude I need to say something
"You know what, Carson? Stop talking about me when I'm right over here. Best friends are supposed to get in fights, you need to stop being mean and just forgive me. I live with Mitch which means that's my house, too. So get used to talking to me, got it?"
Carson just glares at me. "I don't need to talk to you or forgive you. Got it?" Carson imitates me.

Study hall comes by and I was hiding most of the time, crying.
I miss Carson, a lot.
I need to talk to him and get him to forgive me.
I notice Carson and Kenny talking secretly, so I walk over and listen.
Yes, I'm eavesdropping.
My bad...
"You need to tell her!" Kenny says to Carson.
"No, it'll ruin everything. Plus she has a boyfriend."
"So what! You love her. You need to fight for her." Kenny tells him.
"Sometimes love isn't enough for people" Carson answers sadly.

"Cole, I don't know. I'm sick of you lying to me all the time. You need to stop doing things for popularity. It's not the real you I used to know." I tell him honestly.
"Look, I know. I'm sorry. How about we do something differently?"
"And what is that?"
"If you say 'swear on our relationship?' I will tell the truth no matter what, because our relationship means a lot to me."
I sigh. I always give into him. "Okay, but this is your last chance."
Cole smiles and gives me a kiss. I frown right after though.
"What's wrong?"
"I called Carson a liar and a horrible best friend. He hates me now." I frown.
"Isn't that a good thing?" Cole questions, seriously.
"Stop, Cole. I've go to go." I give Cole a quick kiss goodbye and walk back home.
I was glad to see that Carson was still here, but when I walked in and said hi, only Mitch greeted back.
"I'm going to go make some food." Mitch says, hopping up from the couch.
When Mitch is out of sight, I walk over and sit down next to Carson.
"Carson, I'm sorry. I was so stupid for believing Cole over you."
"Yeah, you are stupid." He tells me.
I smile. "Does this mean we're friends again?"
Cole laughs, so I take that as a yes.
His next words shocked me.
"You've got to be kidding me, Amy? No! We are not friends! You called me a liar and a bad best friend. I've never once lied to you. Now leave me alone, and don't talk to me ever again."
I gulp and hold back the tears as I walk upstairs to my room.
I guess Carson really meant it when he said I'll regret what I said.
I hear a knock on my door, expecting it to be Carson, it was Mitch.
"What do you want?"
"You're a real jerk, Amy."
Yes, you would think you're big brother would smash someone's face in for being so mean to his little sister. Not, Mitch. He knew when I deserved something. Carson has been nothing but honest and caring to me. I ruined that.
"I know." I let a tear fall. "You don't need to remind me.
Mitch's features soften. "Hey, don't cry. I didn't mean to be rude."
"It's fine, can you just leave me alone?"
Mitch nods and walks out the door.
I've known Carson for a long time.
He became friends with Mitch in kindergarten and they were always together.
Now I've lost him.

"Carson, we need to talk."
It was the next day since I found out Carson lied about Cole smoking pot. And since I knew Carson was coming over today, I was definately going to confront him for lying to me.
I thought he was my best friend?
"Sure thing. What's up Ames?" Carson says coming over to me.
"Why did you lie about Cole smoking pot?"
Carson had a angry look on his face and then spoke, "I didn't lie, what the heck Amy?"
"Yes you did. When Cole promises, he doesn't lie. And he promised me he didn't smoke pot!"
"Well then, obviously you don't have a very good boyfriend." Carson starts walking away.
"No, obviously I don't have a good best friend!"
Carson turns back around. "You'll regret that." Then he walks back to Mitch.
I guess I needed to talk to Kenny. He was in the same grade as Mitch and Carson. He smokes pot and he can't lie.
I quickly text Kenny and ask him if I can stop by his house, since it's right around the block. He was probably confused, but he text back and said sure.
I waved Mitch and Carson goodbye, but Carson wouldn't even look at me.
Well, that's what he gets for lying.
When I finally make my way to Kenny's, I knock on the door, and he sits on the porch with me.
"So what's up Little A?" Yupp, Little A. That's my nickname.
"You wouldn't lie to me, right Kenny?"
"Even if something is going to cause trouble, I could never lie. You know that." Kenny says honestly.
"Kay, did Cole smoke pot at the last party you guys went too?"
"Uh, yeah? He even told us not tell his controlling girlfriend. All the guys wanted to tell you, but we felt bad. So we just waited till you asked one of us."
"Wow. I can't believe him. Thanks for telling me Kenny." I smile.
Before I left, I told Cole to go to the park, which he happily said he would.
Finally I arrived at the park. Cole came over and hugged me.
"Whats wrong, babe?"
"You do know Kenny never lies right?"
"Yeah, your point is?"
"He told me you smoked pot. And what you said."
"Babe, look. I didn't want to look dumb. I'm sorry."
"No, Cole! I'm sick of you lying to me!"
"Babe, I'm sorry. I promise I won't do it again."

Wow. And I was just telling myself about how he does things he doesn't really want to do because of popularity.
Unbelieveable.
"Please tell me you are joking." I beg Carson.
"He was smoking it about an hour ago. I came as soon as I could." He tells me.
"Wow. He always tells me how he would never do it again."
"I'm sorry, Amy. But I've got to go. I just figured I'd tell you since you're my best friend." He stands up.
"Thanks Carson. Thanks for being my best friend." I stand up also and hug him.
Then he leaves.
I text Cole telling him to meet me at the park in an hour.
He was probably going home to take a shower and brush his teeth.
Ha, he thinks he didn't get caught.
I watched a couple shows and then started walking to the park.
I'm not really afraid to confront people, even if this was my boyfriend.
He knows I don't like it when he does that stuff.
Is it really wrong that I care?
Cole was already sitting on a swing when I arrived. I sat down on the swing next to him.
"So what'd you do after my birthday?"
"Just hung out with a few friends at a party."
Okay so partially the truth.
"Did you do anything? Like drink, smoke pot...?"
"No, babe. I promise." He tells me.
"Cole! Don't lie to me! Carson told me!" I yell standing up.
"Oh of course Carson told you. He's a liar!"
"No you're the liar Cole!"
"Carson just has a thing for you! He doesn't like me so he lied. Trust me babe, I promise. I really do promise."
Why would Carson lie?
"Fine, I believe you.. I'm sorry."
