no problem, hun. i'm glad i can help you let it out, i know it can be frustrating talking about it with people who have no clue. :/ any age is too young for an eating disorder; they're so alskjdfdsalfkj;dfjsadf ugh. i hate them with all of my heart. </3 i'm so sorry that your sister is so young though, it's sad when the eating disorder takes away happiness from people going into what should be some of the best years of their lives. i'm sorry to tell you but she probably is viewing you as a competition, that's how i was. but it wasn't just with my sister, who's 2 years younger than me, it was with everyone that i felt was skinnier, prettier, or better in any way than me. D:

anytime, dear. i'm so glad i could help, even the slightest bit. i'm so sorry to hear about your sister. seriously, reading about that brought tears to my eyes. i remember exactly what it's like to be in her shoes. it's terrible and lonely. i remember the isolating and feeling completely along and helpless too. i am so sorry for you, your family, and her. anorexia is a terrible thing. everything about that word makes me cringe. i know it's hard to imagine that somebody could torture themselves to the point of starvation, it seemed impossible to me too before i became anorexic, and it doesn't make sense to those around us. just know, that despite whatever the outcome is - she is trying her absolute hardest right now. every day is a huge struggle. i'll be praying for her - and your whole family. <3 try to stay strong through this whole thing, love. just stay strong for her.

it's hard to say exactly what i did to "get over it" there were a number of things, actually. i'd been going to an outpatient therapist for about a year, and that wasn't working so i was hospitalized, i still make regular visits with my outpatient therapist, too. it's really intense - like 3 times a week. i visited with a doctor, nutritionist, and of course the therapist. it's difficult to say what will help your sister recover from her eating disorder because it's different for each person, and it also depends on what stage they're at in the eating disorder. for me it really just came down to the fact that i didn't want to be living in hell for the rest of my life. faith is a big part in my life, and i feel like God has helped me through a lot of this. as for your role in helping her - just keep on being encouraging. give her compliments, not just about her beauty, but about anything i.e "you have really nice handwriting!" or something like that. i know it sounds silly, but getting compliments that aren't directed towards our physical appearance can help us not to focus on those so much. just try to seek help from a therapist or something too. how is your sister doing?
