Mother && Daughter
It seems like there are three people,
Instead of there being four.
I never even get an answer,
When I knock on her door.
I never see her around the house,
It’s as if she was never there.
When I go to kiss her goodnight,
The sight gives me a scare.
The moonlight makes her skin so pale,
She looks so fragile,
She looks so frail.
Her chest seems to stay in place,
And she doesn’t move all.
The frozen peacefulness on her face,
Makes my skin crawl.
The days I give her rides to school,
I see just how skinny she is,
Like just one touch,
Just one touch,
Would break her like a twig.
I wish we could go back to the days,
When we would always fight.
I know saying that is cruel,
And just doesn’t sound right.
But if you were in my position,
And you just had to make a decision,
I know the choice you would make.
You would choose the fights,
The screaming and the crying,
Over nothing at all.
