quick question..how do you know that it is for attention? usually people who self harm use it to cope or to have someone notice to see who cares enough to ask the question are you okay. it really is a powerful question. she may say shes fine bt just be there for her and constantly remind her of that

you need to confront her and try to get her to open up to you it may just have been a one time thing. if you see it gets worse you need to tell someone. when i would cut no one said anything and it just got worse and worse because i felt like no one care, but if you say something they will realize that you care. and then any other problems they are facing they can talk to a counselor and let it off their chest. let them know that seeing a counselor won't make thenm weird, also if she needs convincing i would be more than willing to talk to her. im going into college for child psychology and counseling, and i can relate to many people i use to cut for 6 years staright as well have other problems. still to this day i wish someone had said something
