Boys Fall In Love Too.
Chapter 5
After school the next day Colton was standing in front of his bathroom mirror at home, trying to make his hair look presentable and flexing his muscles. "What the heck are you doing?" asked his 12-year-old sister, Scarlett, who decided to barge in. "Do you mind? I could of been using the bathroom," said Colton, glaring at her in the mirror. "I really didn't think you were, you've been in here for almost a half-hour, stop trying to memorize every pore on your face," she said, wandering over to the closet and began searching for something. "I'm pretty sure whatever you're looking for is also in the other bathroom," Colton said, getting annoyed. "No, actually, it's not," she said, still searching. "What are you looking for anyway?" he asked, slowly walking over towards the closet. He watched as Scarlett got a grip on something and stashed it in her white shorts. "None of your business, dweeb," she said, walking out. She stopped right in the hall and turned, "I sounded just like Crissa, didn't I?" Colton nodded slowly and Scarlett turned and walked down the hallway. Colton walked out of the bathroom, ending his primping session for his tutoring session with Bridget. He stopped at the first door on the left before the stairs, it was closed, as usual. He hesitated as he reached for the knob. I've got to stop doing this, it just brings on the sad thoughts, he thought, now gripping the knob. He couldn't help it though, so he turned it and walked inside. The room had green walls, white carpet, a desk, a bed with a brown and blue comforter, a TV that hadn't been turned on in a while, a blue fuzzy chair and other various items. Colton took a look around, stopping at each picture that was either hung up on a photo board, or in a frame. Most pictures featured smiling, teenage girls and there were some family ones too. He wandered over to his favorite one, it was in a frame that was green with black and white flowers. The picture featured a girl with reddish blonde hair and blue eyes and the girl's friend, who had silky black hair and piercing brown eyes. Colton touched his fingertips lightly to the reddish-blonde, "I miss you, Crissa." He felt the tears behind his eyes. "Don't you dare cry," he said to himself, slamming the frame back down. "WHY DID YOU TAKE HER?" he demanded, screaming up towards the ceiling. "Colton, are you okay up there?!" called his mom from downstairs. "WHY? SHE HAD SO MUCH LIFE LEFT!" he screamed again, causing his mom and sister to run into the room. "Colton, calm down. It's ok, it's ok," his mom said, putting her cold arms around him. Scarlett was silent, standing in the doorway, not wanting to take a step in. "Why did God do it, Mom?" Colton whispered. "I don't know," she said, looking at the ground. "I better get going to school," Colton said, not wanting to wallow in saddness for much longer. "Ok, have fun tutoring," his mom said, smiling slightly. He could tell she didn't know what else to say.
