Well there could be many things going on.
1) He's just as confused as you are right now and doesn't know how to process everything.
2) He's just a totally tool who doesn't even deserve your attention.
3)He loves you more then he's letting on.
Honestly, I was in a situation kinda just like yours. You really just have to play it out and see how it goes. If you really do like him, or love as you say, then just keep trying to be his friend. Talk like you would have before all this went down, and before either of you threw around the L-word. Doing this, one of two things will happen...
1) Everything will work out perfectly and you guys will be together and happy.
Or...
2) He'll be an a** to you. Yes, this will hurt for a little bit, but then this guy is going to come around and show you the error of your ways in ever wanting the guy in question.
I know it sounds a little far fetched, but, trust me, because I didn't believe it at first either. And if you need more help I'm here! reply
