There are several answers. Yes you are right for standing your ground, but he has every right to be upset. You are his girlfriend he doesn't want you to be distracted by someone else. If he loves you (which is probably why he was upset) he wants all your attention. YES other friends are important, but at least your ex had confidence to speak his mind and you shot him down. I think you should have said, "I get where you are coming from, but I can't ditch my friend completely. I'll try to talk to him less for you." If you can't do that for your boyfriend then you shouldn't be together. Do you possibly have a crush on your best guy friend? 0reply
