Maybe instead of fighting on the front lines, you could be a trainer or something like that, where you'd still help, but not risk your life so you'd see your family. My uncle was in the airforce and he fought one battle, then requested to train and he's still alive today. Hope I helped!

I know exactly how you feel. I've wanted to Join the Corps. for a while now, but my fiance int sur he wants me to go. It's a truly hard decision to make aone that can cause a lot of sacrifice on both paths. If you join you could lose him, or you could keep him. If you don't join you would get to keep him but ou would be sacrificing something you truly want to do. I ended up deciding not to join, mainly because i decided i want to settle down and have a family. I also looked into joining the reserves and have been talking to my finace about doing that instead. It is ultimately up to you, but just know that if he decides to not be with you because you join, he isnt worth it. It's your life, dont let anyone stop you from doing what you want to do. reply
