This is actually really, really thought provoking. I'm one of those curvier girls who doesn't care a bit about their appearance, and I sort of do my own thing in life. I've always disliked the girls who obsess over their looks and are concerned with popularity; in my experience, they're not as likely to be passionate about doing good in the world or educating themselves, which I personally find reprehensible. But I wouldn't ever call them "fake" because of that. They're just as real as I am. Do I think my way of looking at the world is better? Well, yes, I do, and I admit that freely. But that's partially human nature to think that your way is the right way. Anyhoodles, hmmm. This really got me thinking. Excellent. reply
