I really hope this is love.
Chapter Twenty-Three.
I went back home after we left the doctor where Travis was waiting. I walked through the door, holding Ben because he was sleeping. "How'd it go babe?" Travis asked me. "Good." I went in Ben's room and laid him down in his bed. I walked back in the living room and sat on Travis lap and kissed him. A few minutes later we heard Ben cry, I jumped up. "He probably had a bad dream, I'll go check on him." I walked in Ben's room and he was laying in his bed crying. I ran over to him, "Baby what's wrong?" He pointed to his belly. "Does your belly hurt baby?" He answered my question by throwing up on the floor. "TRAVIS GET IN HERE!" Travis came running in the room. I took Benjamin in the bathroom and ran him some bath water so I could wash him off. "Honey, mommy and daddy will do everything to make your tummy feel better okay?" He just nodded. I gave him a quick bath, got him out, put some clean pajamas on him, and then put him back in bed. He threw up a few more times and his temperature got up to 101 so I decided it was time to take him to the emergency room. We got there and finally got to go back to see the doctor. Ben's temperature was 103 so he emitted him to the hospital. They put him on the pediatric floor. They ran some test on Ben and about after an hour of waiting the doctor walked in, "Mr. and Mrs. Perkins I have Ben's results back." "What are they?" "Ben has pneumonia. We're going to put him on fluids and antibiotics. We're going to give him something for his stomach too." "Okay thank you doctor." He smiled at me and walked out of the room. I looked at my baby, he was so sick. I felt so bad for him. I laid my head on Travis' chest and cried. "Shh, Amy. Sweetie, Ben's going to be fine." We both slept on the small couch they had in Ben's room at the hospital that night. The next morning we woke up and Ben was doing a lot better. His temperature went back down to normal, he's stomach felt better, but he wouldn't be doing a lot for a couple days. The nurses discharged us and we went home. When we got there Ben drank a whole sippy cup full of juice and then I put him to bed and he fell right to sleep. Me and Travis ate and then laid down for a nap. A couple hours later I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. Both, Ben and Travis were still asleep. I went in the living and watched Tv. About an hour or two later Travis came in the living room, "Amy come back to bed." "No, I'm not sleepy anymore." "Fine, I'm staying in here with you." "Okay then." He sat on the couch next to me and pulled me up in his lap. He pecked my lips. "Amy, Ben's going to be okay." "I know, he's just my baby ya know?" "I know, but we have another baby coming remember?" he laughed. "Yeah I remember." and I smiled at him and laid my head on his chest. I really do have a great life, it's hard at times but I get to spend it with Travis, Ben, and this future baby.
