But having s*x doesn't mean you don't respect yourself. Self-respect and worth isn't determined by your virginity. Virginity is a concept dreamed up by the patriarchy to shame women for not being 'clean' and 'pure' for their future husband. Nothing actually changes in a woman after she has s*x for the first time - the hymen doesn't 'break' or 'pop', it's a thin, elastic membrane that stretches. It may tear slightly if the woman isn't relaxed/aroused enough, but it doesn't actually break.
And a woman's most precious asset is not her virginity. A woman is so, so much more than that. This quote is, in my opinion, absolutely horrible. A woman is so much more that what's in her pants. A woman's worth should not be determined by what she chooses to do with what's in her pants. Self respect isn't determined by whether she allows multiple partners to have s*x with her or she waits until she is married. Neither woman is better than the other, and should not be treated any differently. reply

this is for the girls who feel like they are pressured to give it up too easily. respect for yourself as a woman IS girl power :) and more power to anyone else who is waiting or saving themselves. reply
