Yeah, one thing that I love about my religion though is that animals aren't just thought of as emotionless objects. There's this hadith which always makes me happy:

"A prostitute was forgiven by Allah, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allah forgave her because of that."

An act of kindness towards a needy animal just has so much meaning.

I KNOOOOW. I don't understand why they think that some dogs are "uncontrollably aggressive" when we've been able to tame TIGERS. All you have to do is treat the animal with respect and give it a hell of a lot of love. Animals can be trained to be calmer but torturing them is not the way to do it. Some people just make me sick.

Haha aww! Well I really admire you being a vegan, it must be quite hard finding all the "right" food. But I guess it pays off in the end!

Yeah, I'm Muslim. You used to eat halal meat? That's good! I hardly eat any meat in the first place (veggie girl here!) but it's comforting to know that the chicken being eaten wasn't frickin tortured to death.

I know! And then the poor dogs who don't fight or refuse to end up being tortured in the most inhumane ways ever. It's just disgusting. Everytime I hear something about animal abuse I go cuddle my cats and tell them how lucky they are :P Haha! Do you have any pets?

You're vegan? That's so cool. I don't really eat meat but I wouldn't class myself as a proper vegetarian... Although sometimes I feel so guilty when I hear about these poor animals living in horrid conditions and killed in such inhumane ways. But my religion kind of helps in a way cause we're only allowed to eat "halal" meat. Basically the animal has to be killed in the least painful and cleanest way possible. No bleeding to death. That kind of reassures me but then again you never know nowadays. Animal cruelty just sucks. It seriously makes me cry in seconds!

Aww! Really? That's too bad, I bet your grandparents miss you like mad!

And yeah, I did know that, unfortunately it's a sad reality for many children in Pakistan too - the place where I'm currently living (I'm from England though). Kids in England don't realise how lucky some of them are, children in places like Pakistan and India have to live in 1-room "houses" and work for hours on end just to raise a little bit of money. It's really sad. But thanks for reminding me about them because I'll definitely post some facts about them too. xxx
