I know, it's so upsetting just to hear about it, imagine having to live through it.

Yeah, I know how you feel. Think about it, even if you have the odd argument with your father now and again, be grateful he's got decency, respect and basic morals when it comes to treating his family the way they should be treated and not abusing them - which is actually what many "fathers" do now. I feel sorry for the children who have to grow up in such a household, it must be terribly hard.

That's very, very true. However, this was just to highlight the unfairness and greed of JP Morgan's actions. Oil might be harmful to the environment when we use it too much, but that doesn't give ANYONE the right to act so greedy just so the poorer people can't afford the already-sky-high prices of oil (as well as food, etc.)

Oh gosh, I'm very sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how your sisters must have felt, it really is a traumatising experience. I'm glad you skipped out on the sexual abuse. I know that I can't really say anything to make it seem OK or whatever, so I'll just say once again that I'm very sorry and I'm 100% that you come from a very strong family. All the best. Thank you for commenting.

This is so very sweet. It's kind of you to take time out to make a quote like this. And I agree, people do need to become more aware of important world issues or we'll end up rotting in a world overcome with poverty, inequality, corruption and injustice in general.

It is definitely horrible but I doubt the majority of the world even knows this even took place. In fact, I have to admit that I only found out about it not too long ago, too.

I know! And this isn't the only case of Walmart being greedy when it comes to compensation. It's just one of many.

Oh crap, I meant $13,000.

My OCD urges are kicking in and I feel like deleting this and posting it with the correct number. Oh goodness. I'm usually so careful and precise about these things.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This fact should read: "The 5 Walton siblings are each worth $18 billion while the average Walmart employee makes $13,000 a year."

Thank you very much to PaperLung for pointing this out! :-)

It's absolutely disgusting. But of course the world's children will not be told about these kind of incidents in their history textbooks.

Definitely. Just shows where our world's money really goes even while the majority of us are already suffering from money problems/issues.

I understand that when people "like" one of the facts, it doesn't mean that they support what's going on. They're just favouriting it. Nothing big. So don't worry and fave away! ;-)

Aww, thank you so much! That's so incredibly sweet of you to say :-) But I don't worry about favourites, I'm just here to help spread a little awareness through witty about serious matters. Thanks again though, that was just a really lovely comment! xx

@ youdontknowme88:

I felt like that too! It's terrible when you see these poor birds stuck together in tiny cages with absolutely no comfort, proper food or cleanliness. I mean, if you're going to slaughter the poor animals then at least give them some respect and comfort during their finals hours, right?

Thanks to you and CristinaG412 for commenting :-) xx

If who is alive? Muammar Gaddafi or Osama bin Laden?

First of all, thank you for sticking to your beliefs and not blindly agreeing with whatever is being said - I respect that. However, there are certain things I think you should research into this matter. Of course, the things done by the Osama bin Laden character were disgusting and deplorable. However, most people don't know that he actually worked for the American government and was even part of the CIA some years prior. I'm NOT saying America is a devil land or anything stupid like that, but the government isn't innocent (then again, the majority of governments are shady). Moving on, I know about Islamic beliefs and throwing his body into the ocean was not following those beliefs. Muslims do not throw bodies in the ocean. In olden times (and probably now in certain cases), bodies were only thrown into the ocean if they died on a ship and weren't close enough to land so they had to dispose of the body before it went into a bad state. Muslims have a proper burial ceremony for their dead in the ground - like many, many people. He may have been evil, in fact, from what we know of him he was VERY evil, but that doesn't let America's government (along with other governments, it's not just the US) off the hook. I hate to sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist, but the truth is kind of in your face. I mean, not even a picture of Osama bin Laden's body - the man we've been hunting for years and ended up being found in his OWN house. Really? I don't want to push my personal views into this, but once again, thank you for commenting, I'm very glad you did :-)
