well one option that always works is a picture frame with a pic of both you or of a collage of you two. I know presents for guys can be tough. If he is into sports get him something related to that such as a baseball hat, a basketball or soccer ball and write a special message on it/inside joke. If he is into music get him some awesome headphones or speakers. Stuff like that. If you need more help comment on my profile. reply
