today, after school,
my younger sister, who's in third grade, brought home a friend to hang
out with for the day. they were talking about who they liked, and who / /
they're best friends are. my sisters friend says, "sammy's my best guy
friend, ever, but i like like him too." which i respond with, "oh, that is so
cute! does he go to your guys school?" she says, "no, he doesn't go to
school that often..he's in the hospitable most of his time. he's sick..
he got diagnosed with cancer this fall." i was shocked, "really? how old
is he?" she says "he's my age, he's nine." i felt horrible. "i'm very sorry,
what type of cancer?" she looks away and says, "i don't know, but all i
do know is he has to s h a v e his hair, and he had to get his leg cut
off, because the cancer was spreading all over his leg." i felt extremely
bad now.."i'm sorry to hear that.." i said to her. then the next thing she
said, touched my heart."alot of people stare at him funny, just because
he doesn't have a leg. and people call me weird because i hang out
with him. but i don't care what they say,because i love him, and when
you love someone, you love all of them.you don't skip over the parts
that make them ugly, or unwanted. you cannot just leave all the bad
things out. if you really do love them, like i love sammy, you find their
imperfections,
beautiful."

everyone said you were wrong for me_.
that you were a player, but i always stood up for you and told them
you weren't because i knew you were, but i didn't want to face reality.
i told myself that you adored me like i adored you, and that you wanted
to be with me as bad as i wanted to be with you. but it turns out that
- - - - - - - - - - - - - >i was wrong, and everyone else was right.

hi, i'm a teenage girl.
i have good days and bad days, & sometimes take it out on others;
when my ipod is blasting, the rest of world gets tuned outtt
there's a boy that i can't seem to stop thinking about.
[ he's the reason i look forward to school everyday ]
i can't go one day without saying or doing something silly
i truly don't know what i'd do without my friends. ~
[ they know to make me happy and always here for me ]
i can be stubborn, bitchy, and a little clueless at times
& sometimes, in one day, dozens of things go wrong... ♥

Fire is a lot like love.
He held the lit match up in front of his face.
My whole body was trembling, and he started lowering the match towards the little white ball balancing perfectly in my hands. "Now," he said with a warning glance. "Don't be afraid. When I light the ball, just let it burn. Once your hand feels too hot to bear, start rolling it from hand to hand." The match came closer and closer to my skin. Finally, the fire engulfed the little white ball. I gasped slightly from the shock. I stared down at the flaming object laying in my hands. His hands slid under mine, holding them gently. "Just trust me," he said with a smile. I nodded my head, and began rolling the ball from one hand to another. I had fire in my hands, because I trusted him. I felt wonderful, holding the fire, not letting it burn me. Fire can be wild, uncontrollable. Fire is kind of like love in that way. But once you put trust before fears, you can hold fire - and love - in the palm of your hand. That day, my trust in him taught me the biggest life lesson. Love isn't always out to kill.
