I hate me.
I am such a hypocrite.
We are all hypocrites,
but that doesn't diminish
the fact that I am one.
I convict myself.
I don't run an air conditioner
in the summer
because it uses electricity,
and most electricity
is generated by burning coal,
which puts more carbon dioxide
in the atmosphere,
which makes the next summer
even hotter.
However,
in the winter,
it's so cold in the mornings
that I can't work,
and I turn on the electric heater
for two or three hours.
I think in my head,
“it's OK if I make the winters warmer,”
even though I know
that doing so
also makes the summers hotter.
