Chapter 4
Avery's P.O.V.
“Come on Aves.”
“No, Cassy. I hate parties.”
“Dylan will be there.”
“What? Dylan as in the boy I crushed on forever?”
“Yes. Now come on! Get ready!”
“Fine. You win, but only because he’ll be there.”
“Mhmmmm…”
“Oh shut up!”
By the time we were ready, I had on a black hi-low skirt with a white tank top and loose curls in my hair. Cass wore pink skinnies with a fake varsity jacket from Forever 21 and straight hair.
“Alrighty, let’s go!” Cass yelled.
When we got to the party (at Natalie’s) I got a little nervous. People were crowded outside and out of the house, music blaring. Since I knew I wouldn’t be able to calm down easily, I took a shot as soon as I walked in the door. It’s party time.
Eric's P.O.V.
Parties are great because there are tons of girls who are WAY too desperate.
They’ll do anything. ANYTHING.
When I walked in, I headed straight for a beer. Then I went to find some friends.
“Kyle!”
“Eric! What’s up? Ready to get us some?”
Kyle was captain of the basketball team.
“Of course!” I replied.
“Alright.” He said with a small smirk.
As I turned around, someone hit me. Of course. Same girl as the first day of school.
“Watch it.” I snapped at her.
“Sorry I’m not sorry.” She replied sarcastically.
When she walked away, Kyle was first to speak.
“Who was that?”
“Some girl.”
“Dude. She’s hot. I’m gonna get some of THAT tonight.”
He grinned wide while he watched her from across the room.
“No.”
“Dude. You don’t even know her. Why so protective?”
“You don’t know her either! And..I don’t know.”
“Well, I’m still gonna talk to her. Bye, bro.”
Right as I was about to stop him, Courtney placed her hands on my chest.
“Eric.” She purred.
She began to kiss me. I didn’t resist. It was getting pretty heated until I caught something out of the corner of my eye. Her. Kyle was talking to her.
Stop. Stop it now. Why are you so jealous? It’s just some random girl.
“Stop.” I mumbled but Courtney wouldn’t stop. After repeating myself, I finally pushed her off of me.
I made my way over to Kyle and her.
“Oh. Hey, Eric! Thisss is Averyy.” Kyle’s words were slurred. It wouldn’t be long before he passed out.
“I was just abouttt to take Averyy home.” He continued.
“Kyle. You’re drunk. You can’t drive home. Especially not with someone else.”
“Dude, who invited Mr. Party Pooper?”
This time it was her. She was drunk, but not totally wasted.
“Imma go get another shot. Who’s with?”
She got up followed by Kyle and her friend. I followed out of pure curiosity. Kyle didn’t even make it to the kitchen before he passed out. Once they reached the shots, they each took turns until all had passed out. She was the only one left.
“Hey, party pooper. Come take one with me?”
“Nah. I prefer to be sober when I drive.”
“Booooo.” She held her thumb downwards.
“Fine.”
“Alright! 1,2,3!” She swallowed all of hers.
I never even picked my glass up.
“Hey, no fair. You didn’t…even…drink…yoursss…” By this point she was gone. When she collapsed she landed right into my open arms. I couldn’t just leave her.
