Apocolypse 3030
Chapter 2
Alex is ashamed of himself. He had blindly followed his leader's orders to possibly EXECUTE his own sister! He instantly presses a green, glowing button and soon enough, Addison calms down. The torture is over. Alex paces up and down the room, in a dilemma of what to do next: Should he go against his own race, the 'genere alteratur'? Or should he go against his own sister, his own flesh and blood? After much brooding and pacing with his strong legs, Alex makes up his mind. He confront Dux and ask him about his motives and decide what to do from there. "Why does this have to involve me, and my parents?", Alex wonders to himself. He looks back at the screen, that still showed images from Addison's brain. He browses through them again until he sees something that catches his attention. A picture of their old kitchen and Alex, about Addison's age then, looking scared stiff. That gets him thinking back, back to the most terrorizing moment of his life.
*Flashback*
Alex stood on top the footprint-analyzing staircase in their home. He had never really understood WHY the staircase had to analyze footprints, but he was soon to find out. He deactivated the feature and walked down; it had never been able to recognize his genetically different footprints. He strode over to the kitchen, where he expected the robotic arm to serve breakfast like it always did. But for some reason, he could not move from the threshold of the room. The robotic arm was clutching onto his mother's neck. His father lay motionless in the corner, his eyes staring at nothing. Alex turned his head to the other side of the room where Addison, only seven at the time, stood shocked, eyes wide with fear. Standing next to the murderous mechanical member was a man, holding a remote in his hand. He was covered completely with protective armor other than his face. Alex noticed at once that this man was incredibly handsome and recognized him immediately as another 'genere alteratur'. He tried to scream out and break through the invisible barrier holding him back, but to no avail. Within ten seconds, his mother was lying limp on the ground as well, the arm was functioning normally again, as if nothing had happened and the man shimmered slightly and disappeared, but not before saying something to Alex,"We're waiting for you."
That was how he met Dux.
*Flashback over*
Alex stands up and walks to the door.
