Breathe me in, sky of navy. I
spread my palms out far enough out to touch you;
your ethereality delicately twinges
me like a little honeybee in the midst of Summer
sprinkle. You taste like a dream, one of those
short, lovely ones you awake from in the
middle of the night while smiling as you
drift back to sleep. Dusk is my favorite time of the day,
it caresses and nuzzles me while illuminated
figures dance here and there; twirling to the sharp rhythm of my
pulse. I can almost
hear it, the sunlight settling in underneath the horizon.
Maybe a soft breeze or a mockingbird’s
chime accompanies the eventful delight of
twilight, maybe the sound of a child’s
laughter. Finally, as if
thanking a kind Goddess, I bow my head down and
leave the tiger-lily meadow. I have seen all of that which
I needed.
