Thank you! At least someone understands that. My cousin trys to tell me she is a big fan of this band I like... She hates their type of music, doesn't know any of their songs, the only thing she knows about them is the lead singers name because she thinks he is hot (and he is) and that's it.

How many songs do you have to know to love a band? If you know one song or one hundred songs by them, you're still a fan. It annoys me if someone claims to love a bands music and cannot name a single song or member, but thats not the same thing.

and why not? how much songs do have to know to be allowed to love a band? ...you seem offended if someone loves a band after one song, but in my opinion if you actually love the band ( a.k.a "decidated fans" sounds stupid even when i say it), wouldn't you be happy to see them get more fans?

I disagree completely. Let's say that a suicidal or depressed person listened to a song by a band, and that song completely made them think differently about their whole life situation. So then they look up all of the other songs, but the song that saved them still remains the only one they like. They LOVE the band. OR maybe a person that LOVES a band loves the members of the band, not their songs in general. I love what Pierce the Veil stands for, but i do not favor their music. Does that mean i do not love them? No, it does not. Oh, and i happen to like 3 doors down, actually. Feeell free to hate.

Exactly! If you have only heard one song, just say that you like the one song. Don't claim to be a fan because then you will get interrogated by dedicated fans and you will die.

lmao i totally agree. The worst is when they wear band tee shirts (The Beatles, Bob Marley) but can only name like a song or two. Like woah you're such a big fan.

For everyone saying that you can like a band if you've only heard one song, that would not be liking the band as a whole. That would be liking the song. And to anyone that says "OMG I LOVE 3 DOORS DOWN!" (not that anybody on here would) and only knows the song "Kryptonite", don't even talk to me. Alright, well, rant is over. Bye.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH. I like the song Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down, but I don't LOVE the band, because that's the only song of theirs I've heard. AT LEAST I'M AWESOME ENOUGH TO ADMIT IT ;D the only exception for this is one-hit wonders, which is what I was talking about with mskpd333.
