Not like the movies.

Chapter 1
"Ashlyn Marie!" My mother called up the steps.  "Get back down here and help unpack!"
I ripped the bathroom door open.
"Just a second!" I screamed, slamming the door back shut.
We had just moved from the trashier part of town to the newer part.
Personally, I liked our old neighborhood better.
I could do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.
Here, I could barely turn up the radio without getting a complaint call from the neighbors.
However, I was basically the main reason we moved.
According to my parents, I had 'too much freedom' in our old neighborhood.
Maybe they were right, but I was far too stubborn to admit it.
Everynight, I would sneek out of my bedroom window to go visit my boyfriend Mitchell, who lived across the street from us.
Obviously, we got caught one too many times.
Mitchell had gotten me in a lot of trouble since we had started dating.
Even since the day we met.
I didn't care though, because I loved him.
To everyone at our school, he's just a player.
But to me, he's so much more.
He has a side to him that I have fallen in love with.
A side that seems to be invisible to the rest of the world.

My parents don't like him, and my friends don't either.
They keep telling me I can do better, but they don't understand.
I don't want better, I want him.
Sure, he's not perfect, but i'm not either.
I have made mistakes, ones that i'm going to have to live with forever.
I don't regret them, but there are days when I know I should.
Like today.
Maybe if I had a little self disipline, I wouldn't be standing here.
My hands were plastered against my forehead, and my knees were pressed against my chest as I sat on the cold bathroom floor.
A few weeks ago, I had started getting morning sickness.
It wasn't anything serious, just a little stomach ache in the mornings that went away after an hour or so.
I figured it would go away after a couple of days, but it never did.
I wake up with the same pain in my stomach every morning, regaurdless of the motrins and tylonels I take the night before.
I started doing a little research on it, but I kept getting the same results.
I searched and searched, trying to find a different cause for my symptoms, but everything led back to the same answer.
Pregnancy.
The whole thing was pretty surreal at first.
Pregnant, at 14?
No, it wasn't possible.
It couldn't happen, not now, not to me.
Then, I started to put all the facts together.
Thinking about what happened between Mitchell and I had done a month ago.
Then, I realized my period was a week late.
After the second week, I started to think it was just a coincedince.
When the 3rd week arrived and I still hadn't gotten it, I started to panick a little bit.
I stood up from the floor, holding the pregnancy test in my hands.
I looked in the mirror, seeing a girl in the reflection.
Although, that girl, she wasn't me.
A few months ago, I would've recognixed her, but not anymore.
She had changed so much, and had made so many mistakes.
Too many mistakes.
And you can only make so many before you have to start living with them.
Living with the guilt, and the pain, and the truth.
I should've been more careful.
As I stared into the mirror, I saw a few tears start to trickle down my pale cheek.
"Everything's going to be fine Ash." I whispered to myself.
Even though I knew that there was a good chance it wouldn't be.
The 3 minute wait for the results on the pregnancy was over, I was just too afraid to look.
I held the test in my fragile, shaky, hands.
Come on Ash, you can do this, I urged myself.
I finally got the strength to take a small glance down at the test.
I remained silent for awhile, not knowing what to think.
Then finally, it all started to sink in.
"No..no, no, no!" I cried, my body collapsing to the floor.
The test was positive.

I was pregnant.
