So
today, I got an email from my dad.
No, not my stepdad, my biological dad.
I haven't seen him since I was nine.
Don't assume he's a druggie or an alcoholic or in
jail.
He's autistic.
Not severely, he lives alone. He just has a social disorder where
he's afraid of being around people, and he has OCD.
My mom and stepdad didn't believe he was "stable
enough" to see me and my brother, so I haven't seen him
for a while. But we email back and forth a few times a year.
He was just wondering how everything was going, and he tried
calling the house to talk to me, but I wasn't home.
I told him I didn't live there anymore, that I was pregnant,
and living with David.
He called me, crying, saying if there was anything he could do
for his beautiful baby, then to let him know. He also told me he
loved me.
And I told him I loved him too <3

Did she put : hes unstable so i cant see him? No, she put her MUM and STEP-DAD said that, so quit going on at her about it.

it doesn't mean you'r not unstable if your autistic or OCD- there are different severities that people could have. I've met someone who is very OCD and i've met someone who isn't as OCD... Anyway, i wish you all the best luck and i am so touched by this story. you have a wonderful dad!

I have OCD... Doesn't mean i'm unstable. My brother is autistic, he isn't unstable.
