Not So Sweet Dreams
Chapter 14
Seventeen years later
Ian's P.O.V.
It was her Birthday. We always came on her Birthday to place flowers on her grave. Today always seemed to be a better day for my dad. He stayed sober till at least twelve'o'clock.
And this was the first year I had introduced my two year girlfriend Cassie to my awful distressed life.
My father stormed off to the car, probably leaving us to go to a bar. For as long as I can remember my father never was fond of me. He claims I was the one who killed my mother.
"Kendall Nicole Bernard," Cassie said in a soft voice "September 19th, 1995 to June 30th 2012...That is a beautiful name."
She stared at me hard with her hazel eyes as I stared at my feet, not wanting to reveal my flooded eyes. She put her small delicate hand on my cheek and made me stare at her. She pullled her blonde curly locks from her face.
I sniffled "I-I just wish I could have met her." I muttered.
She pulled me into her skinny delicate arms and whispered in my ear "I know, I wish I could have met my dad."
"I bet your dad wasn't a dead beat like mine." I muttered back.
Silence.
I spoke "I'm told I look exactly like her."
"Then I bet she's gorgeous." Cassie whispered.
I pulled away from her arms. I pulled out my wallet and picked out the picture of my mother Kendall before she got pregnant with me.
She held it carefully in her hands. Her hazel eyes looked over the picture. She smiled showing her pearly whites. She finally spoke with the grin still on her face "Everyone was right, you do look exactly like her. Same hair, Same nose, Same face, only you have blue eyes, not grey."
She handed me back my picture, I put it back in my wallet, and I took her hand. I was right my father had left. I didn't want to go home yet. I knew if I did with Cassie with me she'd suffer from my fathers outragious drunkenself. So we headed to my grandmother's house.
We held hands in silence on our way over. These in my prespective were the best moments.
My grandmother was not home. I pull her behind me as we go around back. She sits down on the swing and I gaze at her for a long time.
When she see's me I look away. Cassie raises a curious eyebrow.
I grasp her hand and pull her to a trail I had been curious about since I was a boy.
"Where are you taking me?" She askes as I pull her along behind me.
"I don't know myself." I answered.
Finally, we reach a small clearing, and in the middle sat a old cherry tree. Lovely and green with very few ripe cherries left.
I let go of her hand and walk forward, I here Cassie following me. I stop under one of the branches, Cassie stopped right beside of me.
I stare at her for a long time, as she stares at her feet. I probably made a goofy grin. Finally she looks at me and smiles back.
"What is so funny?" She askes, sounding a little flustered.
I burst into laughter.
She put her hands on her hips and stared hard at me. "What is it?!?!" She askes again.
I finally stop catch my breath and gaze into her gorgeous hazel eyes. I finally answered "I had realized something...I realized that I loved you more than I ever thought possible, and I thought it was silly of me to just realize all of this."
A gorgeous smile sweeped across her face, and she said "I can't believe you realized all this before me." She giggled with tears of joy filling her eyes.
Kendall's P.O.V.
This was exactly what I wanted.
I wanted him to find my special place, and I wanted him to fall in love. That was the reason I stayed.
Now that he has found his girl I can leave.
Tears flooded my eyes. I had great hopes for him.
And I smiled knowing that my work here was finished. I didn't care what my destiny was anymore. Heavon? Hell? Bring it on.
I took one last glance at my son and his true love Cassie before a glorious light swept over me.
I closed my eyes preparing to face the worst.
When I opened them, I was faced with a street of gold.
So now you know what happened to Kendall. Yay! She went to heavon. And Yay for Ian! He found his true love!
But were not done yet.
