dear john;
i just wanted to say thankyou. so so much. for everything. you honestly dont know how much you impacted each & everyone of your gymnasts' lives. you taught us so many things, otherwise gymnastics. you taught us lessons, how to trust, how there is always something positive, no matter what, how to live your life to the fullest. everyone of us looked up to you. you were life an older brother to us, that we had a secret crush on hah(: we idolized you.you made everything to turn out good. you always looked at the positive sides to every situation. you always had a smile on your face, no matter what. & you would find a way to make us have one too. you lit up the room; whenever you walked in it. whenever i was having a bad day at school, i would look forward to gymnastics, bc you were going to be there. you were amazing at gymnastics. you put your heart into it. & to making us better gymnasts. you always made training fun, & we were so so unbelieveably lucky you came to our gym. i am so thankful, i met you. otherwise getting to know you, & having you as a coach. i loved every second of it. even if you made me do pushups. i trusted you with everything. the moment i saw you, i knew i could trust you. i only trusted 2 out of 4 coaches. & i only liked 2 out of four coaches. & of course one was jenn, & then there was you. you meant so much to me. & to everyone else. you were a bestfriend, a son, a boyfriend, a friend, a coach, a brother, a guy who knew how to live his life to the fullest. & i admire you for that. you will always be in my heart. & i will always think of you. you were one of the best coaches. i love you, & thankyou john, for everything. you really have no idea <3

- john died at 2:30 A.M on november 25th 2009. coming back from jen & jamie's apartment, he lost control of his car & swarved & hit a tree. he was only 20, turning 21 two days later. he didn't deserve this at all, & so many people were devestated. he was one in a million, & knew how to live life. northwest gymnastics will never be the same without him. <3
