My Story: Clove's POV: The hunger games~
Me and Cato are the only careers left. Glimmer, Marvel and the girl from District Four, all dead.
A loud voice booms around the whole arena. Claudius temple smith. My little friend who announced that 2 people from the same district can win, survive. Me and Cato, and Katniss and Lover Boy are the only ones with our district partners left.
“ Hello Tributes, all of you desperately in need something, and that something will be at the Cornucopia, in the bag marked with you District.”
It’s true, we do need something. Food. After Katniss blew up our whole supplies me and Cato haven’t found much food. Cato hates her even more than me. He wants her dead, and never shuts up about how much he wants it to happen.
So today’s the day, we are going to get Katniss Everdeen, and kill her. I want to go to the feast, I want to kill her, and I promise him it WILL be painful for her.
Cato stays at the lake while I go to the Cornucopia. I hide behind it, waiting, hoping she will come.
I see the girl from district 5, she runs for the bag with the number 5 on it. This could be another kill, another tribute gone, but I’m not going to kill her because I see fire girl now, and she’s running towards her bag.
I run, as fast as I can towards her with a knife. She sees me and tries hit me with an arrow but I hit it away.
I tackle her to the ground. She’s strong, but I have her by the arms and legs now, and with all my force keep her to the ground.
“ Where’s Lover Boy? Half alive somewhere is he? “ I say, slowly to her.
“ Actually no, He’s alive, and he’s after Cato right now!” She replies
Ha. What a liar
“ Sure he is!” she tries tackle out of the lock, but I hold her down harder.
“ I promised Cato I would make this as painful as possible for you, and I’m going to keep my promise. Where should be start? The lips maybe? You won’t be needing them anymore.”
She spits in my face.
“ Ha, You think that will stop me? Well guess what? I’m gonna kill you, just like we killed your little ally. What was her name? Rue? Well we killed her, and now we‘re gonna kill you too. “
I begin to dig the small, sharp knife into her lips when strong, tough, arms wrap around my waist and smash me against the Cornucopia.
“YOU KILL HER?!?!” A voice screams into face. It’s the boy from district 11, Thresh.
“No I-” I stutter
“I heard you say her name! You kill her?!”
“NO! I-” I see a rock in his hand, knowing he’s gonna try kill me. “CATO!!!!” I scream, as loud as I possibly can. “CATO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Then BAM. He smashes the rock right into my temple. I fall to the ground, head throbbing, blood falling from where the rock hit, and I know I’m going to die. I hear voices. It’s Katniss and Thresh… I only hear them faintly though.
“Make it quick Thresh, please.” She begs.
“ Is it true? Was Rue your ally? ” He says
No answer, I suppose she shook her head.
“ Then I’ll let you go just this time. For Rue. Then we’re even. Okay? ”
I hear a faint noise far away. It’s Cato! He’s calling my name!
“ You better run, fire girl “ Thresh tells her.
Then I hear running, and I guess they’re both gone.
“CLOVE!” Cato’s voice is closer, I just want to talk to him, hug him, tell him to win, but I can’t, I’m loosing all senses. I hear very slightly now, and I can hear him kneel beside me and he’s begging me to stay with him. But I can’t, I’m dying right now, and I cant even say goodbye. He’s crying, I can hear it in his voice. Well, it could be crying, or just I just think he is since I can barely hear him. I see white, then I see a little girl. Its me. With my father. When he was teaching me how to use knives… I’m smiling and clapping as I get my very first perfect shot with a knife, my father picks me up and swirls me around, and we fall to the grass, laughing. Then it’s white, and I die.
