(dereks pov)
"Derek get up your late!"my mom said as she came barging into my room, but to her surprise i was already all ready putting on cologne. i wanted to impress Olivia... wait let me rephrase that- I want to win this bet. I know, I know what I'm doing is wrong but i wanted to prove to James that I'm not shallow. its not like i wouldn't date Olivia because of the way she, its just shes not... she's not my... type, i guess. i don't wanna come on to strong so my plan was to keep these "dates" double dates. Don't wanna get to close. I'll make James come on these "dates" with me, maybe she'll end up liking him... or he'll end up liking her, that would show him.
"Wow, you're looking spiffy today." my mom said. my mom is younger than most moms, I'm 15 and she's 30. "What's the occasion?"
"No occasion", I said, "But um i don't need a ride, I'm walking to school today."
"Would you happen to be walking a girl?" She asked
"Kinda." I said. "Well actually not really- um yeah I'm walking a girl."
"Well... that sounds awfully suspicious, but have fun walking this kinda not really girl to school." she smiled than left. I looked at myself in the mirror than went to grab my backpack on my bed when my mom popped her head back in. "um I don't really know how to ask this and I'm completely okay with this if you are cause you're my son and I love you and I would always love you-" she was talking really fast. "Mom!" I interrupted. "What is this?" "um is this kinda not really a girl a um, a guy?" she asked. i was stunned. "what? mom no, I'm not... I'm not gay." "Oh okay." she said "we'll then what makes her a kinda not really girl?" "I don't really wanna talk about this with you ma, no offense." At first she looked hurt but then I think she understood. "We'll okay, have a good day at school." She smiled blew me a motherly kiss and left for work. It was time for me to actually start this bet. I walked out the door and realized I didn't even know which way Olivia lived.
