   Chapter 2
   I could feel hot tears streaming down my face. A few people stopped to look at me, but before anyone could catch a good glimpse i ran away as fast as i could. I didn't know what was going on, but i didn't like it. How could he ? How could SHE?! It was early so no one was in the halls except for a few band members setting up their instruments. I couldn't let anyone see me like this, so i sprinted into the girls bathroom . My reflection in the mirror horrified me. My face was smeared with black mascara, and i was practically gasping for air. I leaned on the sink, but quickly realized i couldn't stand up without holding myself up. Just as i collapsed on the ground my head hit a pipe and everything went black... I woke up in a brightly lit room. My mother sat on my bed holding my hand and my dad was pacing back and forth.
   "Where am I?" I asked
   "Sweetie you hit your head in the bathroom, you got a major concussion, and well... there was a lot of blood. Your friends found you and called 911. You're in the hospital. " My mom said calmly. My mind was spinning. Oh no... had i really hit my head ? There was no doubt the whole school would know what happened. I had to talk to my friends. I reached for my phone but a nurse stopped me.
   " You need your rest." she said and within minutes i was asleep again.

   Chapter 1
   "Kendra!" My mom screamed from the bottom of the stairs. "Get up, you're going to be late again!"
   "mhm, yup." I mumbled kicking my blankets onto the floor. When I grabbed my phone to check the time I started to freak. "DAMN! it's seven already ?!?!" After pulling on skinny jeans and a t-shirt I flew into the kitchen.
   "Honey, I tell you every morning you're beautiful! Why do you need so much makeup ?" my mom said buttering me a piece of toast. I ignored her and took my breakfast muttering goodbye as I ran out the door. It was March but the cold New England air crept over my skin. School was only a few blocks away so I usually walked. I was in eigth grade, but oddly i liked to walk alone. There was rarely a time when i wasn't surrounded by friends so the walk to school was my only time to think. For once in my life everything seemed perfect. Friends, great! Boys, great! School, great! Family, great! I stopped myself because I knew it had to be too good to be true. Before i could worry, my phone buzzed from my back pocket.
   Bridget- Goodmorning sunshinee you excited for Mr. Harrison's science test today ;)
   Me- are you kidding... :P ? haha.
   Bridget- ooh are you at school yet...
   Me- no..almost why??
   Bridget- well you'll see.
   I didn't need to text back because i understood what she meant. There was my ex boyfriend Matt kissing Ariana Mason under the old willow tree; our tree. I stopped dead in my tracks. My head told me it was no big deal, but my heart told me that this wasn't good...
