I don't know how many will read this...
I still remember her favorite sweater. It was yellow, her favorite color. I remember everything she used to say to me. "Love ya babe! see you soon!". Because we live two hours away from her, we didn't see her often. If you saw her, she would not have time to talk. She would be too busy running around the kitchen preparing all of her amazing food. But there was not another person who loved all her grandchildren the way she did. Although she was always small and thin, She had the strength of a bull. i think about this when i sit beside her hospital bed. She doesn't remember my name. I ask her if she knows who i am and everytime she gets tears in her eyes and manages to whisper,"I know you. I can't remember your name, but i love you."
My grandma has lung cancer.
The chemotheropy has begun to make her brain swell.
It frusterates her to have so much to say, but can't get it to come out of her mouth.
I've never seen a person seem so defeated. Every week when we would visit, i could see she was getting weaker and weaker.
She stopped eating.
She had to get a walker.
She spent a lot of time at home sleeping.
Now she's living at the hospital.
She traded her favorite sweater in for hospital gown.
I pray for her every night.
I pray and pray and pray that somehow she will be ok.
But i know the truth.
I'm not a little kid anymore. When the adults are trying to stay postive i know what they are really thinking.
I know its true.
There is no cure for lung cancer.
Fav this if someone you care about is fighting some kind of cancer...
I know it effects us all.
