I Swear I Mean It This Time- Chapter Twenty-Seven
"And after she held my son on her lap for twenty minutes, bouncing him after I repeatedly told her he just ate, Drew threw up on her," I laughed, telling Katie the story. "I swear, it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. She looked like she was going to be sick herself."
"Ohmygod, I wish I could have been there," she said, laughing so hard she was doubled over. "So did anything else happen in Canada?" She asked me. It had been about two weeks since we had been up there. Two very long, very very long weeks.
"If you mean between me and Justin? No. And have we done anything since we got back? No. He hasn't called in a week..." I said, looking over to Drew, who had learned to sit up. He was playing with his toys on the floor.
"He hasn't called? I thought you guys were together?"
I shrugged, taking a sip of my coffee. "I thought we were. But we got back to Canada, he cancelled every dinner date I planned. And this week he hasn't called at all, not even to see Drew."
    "And Josh?"
"Has had flowers delivered every day since I got back. I finally started bringing them to the daycare and my parent's house, I was running out of places to put them. Do you want to bring an arangement home?" She laughed, shaking her head. "And every one of them comes with a note about how sorry he is." I nodded towards the pile of cards on the coffee table.
"So the guy you want won't talk to you, and the guy you don't want won't stop talking to you? This is better than a soap opera," she teased, laughing.
"Yeah, we should start recording my life," I laughed, leaning back against the couch.
"Call him," she said, handing me the phone.
    "Call who?"
    "Justin, call him now."
"He won't answer," I said, dialing his number. I let it ring, and ring, and ring. Surprisingly, he picked up at the last second.
"I can't talk, I told you I would call when I'm not busy."
"Well are you going to see your son any time soon? I don't care if you don't want this relationship Justin, just tell me that. But your son misses you."
He sighed, "can I come pick him up?"
    "Now?"
    "Yeah, now."
"You'll have to give me a few minutes. I need to get him packed."
"I'll be over in ten." I hung up the phone and started packing a baby bag.
    "That was short," Katie said.
"Yeah, he's coming to pick up Drew. Clearly our relationship, or lack of, is over. Which is fine with me,"
"Because you have guys literally chasing you down," Katie laughed.
"Can you put him in his carseat? I want to meet Justin down there. I don't really feel like explaining the 14 dozen flowers." After taking ten minutes to get Drew down the stairs, we arrived just in time to see Justin pull in.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Katie asked, her jaw dropping.
"Oh hell yes I am," I said, because Julia was with Justin. "Take Drew back inside," I said, and when she questioned, I just repeated what I said.
"Where is she going?" Justin asked, after parking the car. "You should have waited for me to come up, that's usually what we do."
"Oh, so you didn't want me to see Barbie in the car?" I said, folding my arms. "Drew isn't going with you today. When Barbie leaves, you can have him back."
"Her name is Julia, not Barbie. And no, I don't think so. You seem to forget that he's my son too Elena!"
"Well I'm the one who carried him around for nine months and then gave birth to him!"
"Don't pull that sh*t, Elena, I'm his father, and I want him now! I haven't seen him in two weeks!"
"Well who's fault is that?!" I yelled, "You haven't bothered to make plans with me! And now I see why!" I said pointing to the car. "I knew as soon as you let her back into your life we were over. And we are Justin, but it wasn't my desicion this time."
"I told you that we were just going to try it," he said quietly. "If it didn't work out it was okay."
"You didn't try anything," I said. "Call me when she goes home. Then you can have Drew." I turned around, slamming the door behind me.
"Elena!" he said, pounding on the door. "Elena!" He knocked for a few minutes.
"Come on Justin, we have a dinner reservation," I heard Barbie say. Only when I heard the car drive away did I let the tears fall. I knew it was over, but I never thought he would go back to her. I heard another knock on the door, and opened it, wiping the tears from my face.
"Elena? Are you okay?" Josh said, standing in front of me. He was hold another bouquet of flowers.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I said, coughing to clear my throat. "Thanks for the flowers." I took them from him. "You finally found the right ones," I smiled, because in my hands were pink dahlias.
"Yeah, well it was my last delivery."
"Josh, I'm sorry. I have just been so confused lately."
"No, I understand. I just need to know Elena, if I should stop calling." I stood there, looking at the flowers, looking at Josh, and thinking of what just happened with Justin.
"No," I shook my head. "I don't want you to stop calling. I want you to keep calling," he smiled, and leaned forward, tucking the hair behind my ear, he kissed me. I broke the kiss, to put the flowers on the table, and threw my arms around Josh's neck, pulling him closer.
He smiled into our kiss, and whispered "I love you,"
Didn't see that one coming, right?

    hauntingly beautiful
    Chapter 17
"Did you mean it?" he repeated, a mix of emotions in his eyes.
Of course I didn't mean any of those insults I spat at him.
But, I couldn't bring myself forward to admit it.
    Why was I so scared?
Because you're falling in love with him.
    I couldn't trust anyone, especially a male.
All men reminded me of my father.
I was indelusional, and I feared that if I became too attached to Hunter, he would hurt me.
His toned body was pressed against mine, as his warm hands began to rub circles around my cheekbones gently.
My cheeks became warm, as his thumb touched my skin.
He brushed away a long strand of hair that covered my face, never removing his gaze from mine.
    What was he doing?
"If you don't answer, I'm going to have to force it out of you." he warned.
His voice sounded so soothing and calm, but at the same time, so threatening.
My eyes widened, as he inched his head closer to mine, until our foreheads came to contact.
My heart began to pump loudly at the fact that our lips were practically an inch apart.
"Last chance." he whispered, his cool spearminted breath brushing on my face.
I held in my breath, as my eyelids fluttered down.
A second later, I felt Hunter's soft lips agaisnt mine.
He held my waist firmly, gently pushing me against the wall.
The kiss was slow and simple, yet so passionate.
A felt my lips curve into a small smile agaisnt his lips.
This was exactly how I pictured my first kiss to be.
We finally pulled away, as my cheeks turned red.
I dared myself to stare back at Hunter, whose face went pale.
The small smile I had on my face had dropped.
Why were his eyes so blank?
Why did he look so regretful.
I suddenly peeled his hands away from my waist, as I stared at him with confusion.
"I-I'm sorry." he hesitated, backing away from me. "That was a mistake."
The words stabbed me like knifes, as my eyes welled up.
I sucked in my breath, holding the tears back in.
    A mistake?
How come my first kiss with him meant everything to me, but nothing to him?
Suddenly, he shook his head, his black hair falling in his eyes.
"I-I didn't mean it like that, though!" he defended.
I gulped, shutting my eyes tightly.
"I think you should go now." I whispered, voice trembling.
A frown replaced Hunter's perfect features.
    Even that suited him well.
    "Hayden, let me-"
    My fists clenched with anger.
Why does everything good that comes to my life disappears?
"Just go!" I snapped, tears finally streaming down my cheeks.
Hunter closed his rosy lips, turning around.
I heard the front door opening and closing.
The sound of Hunter's car driving away was also audible.
    Hunter's Point of View
My hands wrapped around the steering wheel with anger.
The music was blaring from my speakers, as my jaw clenched with frustration.
I drove to Joey's house, where he was hosting another infamous party.
It was time to forget all it all.

I Swear I Mean It This Time- Chapter Eight
"You look lovely this evening," he said, holding the door open to the resteraunt for me.
"Thank you," I said, looking down. I had forgotten what I was wearing. Dark wash jeans with flats and a nice top. It was casual and fancy at the same time, because I had no idea where we were going for dinner.
"They have great steak here," he said, picking up the menu after we were seated. "I wasn't sure what type of food you liked though, so this place generally has everything."
"I'm a vegetarian," I smiled, scanning the menu. "So I'll probably get a pasta dish."
"Oh crap, I'm so sorry. Clearly I wouldn't have taken you to a resteraunt with good meat, do you want to leave?" He said, looking around for a waiter.
"No," I said, placing my hand over his, "it's okay. I'm used to it, it's really not a big deal."
"Are you sure?" He said, looking at me, and I nodded. "Okay," he smiled, taking a deep breath. He grabbed my hand that had moments ago been sitting next to his. He squeezed it, smiling again. "So what else should I know for future reference?" He laughed, sitting back in his chair, and therefore dropping my hand.
"Hmmm...my favorite flowers are the dahlias, pink ones...I am definitely not a morning person, and my favorite place to get coffee is Starbucks. Venti peppermint mocha with whipcream, You may want to take notes," I teased, and he laughed, pretending to write it all down on the table.
    "Anything else?"
"If I think of something, I'll let you know," I giggled. We ate our way through our dinner, and when it was time for dessert, Josh put in an order without letting me see the menu. "Hey, what gives?" I said, confused.
"I wanted to surprise you, is that okay?"
I bit my lip, and nodded. Since being with Justin, surprises left a bitter taste in my mouth. "Besides school, do you work?" I asked, "all these dates can add up in Boston. I can pay for tonight if you want." I offered.
"No way, the gentleman should pay. And after school and most of my time on the weekends, I work at Market Basket," he said sheepishly.
I laughed, before apologizing. "I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at you, I totally get the whole take what you can get, but your face, you were so embarrased," I laughed.
"My parents send me money now and then. Not too often, only when I've had to take off work to study. So I get by," he shrugged. The dessert came out then, it was a chocolate cake with whipcream on top.
"Oh, and I love chocolate," I winked, forking a bite. "So good," I groaned. The chocolate was so rich and coated my mouth in loveliness. We finished dessert quickly, and then he walked me back to the car. "That was fun, thank you," I smiled.
"Your welcome, I had fun too. But I have one question," he said, and I turned to look at him. "have you decided to kiss me yet?" He smiled, and I giggled.
"Not yet," I shook my head. "You're going to have to wait a little longer," he graoned, and I laughed again. "You'll survive," I stood on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek. "Goodnight Josh," I climbed into my car.
"Goodnight Elena, sweet dreams," he said, and closed my door.
Josh or Justin? Did I lose some readers because she's not with Justin anymore? Please don't leave! It's making me sad :(
