His Shoes
Chapter 2
Parting was sad. We always had next year. Or so I thought. That summer we didn’t talk at all. I didn’t see him or get one single phone call. I guess I just thought he was busy. 7th grade came along. We were close. Not as close though. We’d flirt still and hold hands every now and then but we just … lost touch. I still loved him though. I don’t know if he could return the love. We had some classes together but not that many. Just 2. He was still my favorite person and I don’t know, I guess I was his too. That’s what I thought. Again, I thought wrong. 7th grade was fun but absolutely nothing compared to 6th. That was the BEST year of my life. Summer rolls around and he disappeared. Completely.
Now it’s 8th grade. We talked in chorus because he was trying to teach me the piano, FAIL. After 3 weeks of piano lessons, it stops. Everything. Talking, pianos, hugging, flirting, and holding hands. All of it. He doesn’t even say hi to me in the hallways. My friend posted a status on Facebook. It said, “Like my status and I’ll give you a name and then you write on my wall what you think about them” I liked it and of course I got him. I explained everything between us in one wall post. Now he doesn’t have a Facebook but like all of his friends do. And his best friend, Henry has one. He saw it and instantly new it was about Luke. I mean, if you knew Luke, or me how COULDN’T you know whom it’s about?
