Aqua Aquarium
Chapter One
Little did I know that after walking into English class in room 110 would be the greatest adventure of my life. It was an abnormally cold day due to the fact it was the middle of January. It was cold and dreary outside so my day was already passing slowly. Katie Kerr and I walked through the doors, prepared to learn about how to correctly write a research paper and learn new vocabulary. What we learned instead, was what we least expected. We took a step through the doors and I felt a heat wave rush over me. I looked around to find that I was no longer in a Magnificat classroom. I closed my eyes not believing what was surrounding me. I could not believe it until I felt the warm salt water spray my face.
I opened my eyes and looked at Katie Kerr and noticed that her entire apparel was changed. She was prepared for a day at the beach as was I when I looked down at myself to find that I too was dressed in a bathing suit.
“Come on, let’s go for a swim!” Katie yelled as she grabbed my hand and ran for the water.
The beach was packed with people. Everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves just as we were. We did not question what was going on because it seemed a lot better than school. While we were swimming we noticed dolphins jumping out of the water as if they were performing a show for us.
“Let’s swim out a little farther to see the dolphins. I’ve never been so close to them in my entire life!” I said excitedly. Dolphins were my favorite animal and my biggest dream was to swim with them one day.
As we neared the dolphins they seemed to be approaching us as well. A little uneasy, I stopped swimming and let them come to us. Katie was trying to make dolphin noises to get them to come closer. I started laughing because obviously Katie could not speak dolphin. As I was laughing one of the dolphins spoke.
“Hey! We don’t appreciate the mockery. We can talk too you know,” it said.
Katie and I just starred at them. I think I was too much in shock to believe this was real. Before I knew it, I was on the back of one of the dolphins, as was Katie.
“We’re going underwater, be ready!” my dolphin warned us.
Before I knew it, we were submerged underwater. I think the dolphin realized how scared I was because he turned to me and said, “Open your eyes. And take a deep breath, will you? You don’t want to die.”
I opened my eyes and gasped at the fact that I could breathe underwater. That was not the only thing that astounded me though. I looked around and saw the most beautiful scenery ever. The most exotic and colorful fish were swimming all around us, greeting one another. After about ten minutes we arrived at a huge stone castle. The dolphins escorted us to the main entrance where we were greeted by two seahorses. The seahorses were about the size of human beings.
“Alright get on, the queen mermaid would like to see you,” the purple seahorse said.
Katie and I looked at each other, unsure of what was about to happen. We were not sure whether this queen mermaid would be mean or nice. We got on their backs anyway and they carried us through the long hallways of the stone castle. When they came to a stop, I looked up to see a gorgeous mermaid sitting on a gold throne. The closer I looked, the mermaid’s face looked familiar. Next to her was a handsome merman who I assumed to be her husband. Katie and I got off the seahorses and approached them.
*i had to write this for school. Should i continue with it?
