Sorry to bore you guys with this quote, but someone has to stand up. Please read!
Our Earth needs us, now more than ever.
Today I was watching the Discovery Channel and they we're taking an animated tour of the world in the future. Here is what our beautiful home will look like in 2060:
-Countries will be fighting each other, not for oil, but for water. Think about what it would be like going to you're sink, turning your faucet on, and there being nothing coming out.
-Sea levels will rise to extreme amounts. Sea barriers would have to be built to try to keep cities like New York afloat, but it just wouldn't work
-There would be no glaciers, nothing called the Greenland ice-sheet
-Just think about your baby sister, or brother, mom, or dad breathing in methane. Not oxygen anymore, methane.
-The power one day would just go out. People would wait for the president to tell them what happened, but they had fled on them
-Disease was taking over massive amounts of people- the population had gone from 9 billion on Earth to 2 billion
-You didn't know if you had a cousin anymore, and grandmother, or a sister because you didn't have contact with anyone
So why am I telling you this?
It's because we have to act guys- our generation HAS to prevent this from happening. Pretty soon we won't have a choice; in fact, less than 10 years. I want to try to get witty to stand up like we always do. I know some of you will probably leave nasty comments about this, but someone had to stand up; thought it might as well be me. I hope that you guys will join me in trying to keep our home, the one that has given us life, from dying out.
If you have ANY ideas about what we can do, please comment. Pretty soon, we are going to have to make a difference; it might as well be now.
Our future isn't written; the ending can still be changed. So let's grab a pen and write our story.
