    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Eleven
We walked about four blocks down, when we finally reached a small
coffee shop. We sat down at a table of
two and he ordered to cups of coffee.
“ So I never really got to have a real conversation with you.” He laughed. “Well lets start over.” He replied. “Ok, I’m Meagan as you know,
I’m sixteen, and I live with my grandparents
in Long Island.” “Do your parents work?”
He said. I looked down at my coffee, I could feel my eyes filling with water but I tried to push it back. “My parents passed when I was
younger.” I looked down. “I’m so sorry.” He said. I could tell he looked upset with himself for saying that. I tried
to change the subject. “So it’s your turn.” I said with a grin. “I’m seventeen, I have lived in this small town of Florida
    since I was born.”
He grinned. “Not really an exciting life, huh?” he said. We probably sat at that table for 2 hours when my phone went off.
It was Sheela, wondering where the hell I was. “Listen I have to go, Sheela is wondering were I am, so I better get going.” I looked at him one last time. “Bye.”

    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Ten
I swallowed loads of salt water, when I felt two strong
hands lift me out of the water.
I opened my eyes that stung like hell and saw Spencer’s
glowing face. “Are you ok?” He was
cradling me in his arms. I nodded. He carried me back to shore.
“I’m so sorry” I said quietly. “Don’t be.”
I started to walk back, when I turned around and thanked him. He nodded and I continued to walk. I felt his eyes on me though.
His stare was burning through me. I got up
to the beach house still shaking, ran into my room and cried.
That was the first time I have ever been
in the ocean. I was terrified. But at the same time it felt good. I felt like a new person. I kind of liked it. The next day Sheela
and me walked into town. It was a hot day, and we just wanted to relax. Sheela probably went into every store,
she bought so much clothes, I’m surprised she hasn’t run out of money. I passed a small bookstore about five times.
I decided I would go in. I couldn’t look at another pair of shoes. I opened the creaky door and walked in. the shelves were covered
this books, I didn’t know were to start. I walked around my head down, looking at all the books, when I bumped into
somebody. I looked up and saw Spencer. I laughed. “I just keep seeing you everywhere.” He smiled.
“Is that a bad thing?” I smiled and replied “of course not.” He looked down at the book I was holding. “You like Sara O’Neal?”
“Yeah she’s my favorite author.” I said shyly. “Me too.” He smiled. “Want to go grab a coffee?” I didn’t know what to say, but before I could even think I said yes.

    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Seven
It was like a dream. I kept pinching myself
on the car ride home thinking I was dreaming.
That night I laid in my bed. I was exhausted, but I couldn’t stop
thinking about him. His name, his smile,
his laugh, everything was glued to my
    brain. When
I woke up in the morning the house
was quiet. That was rare, Sheela was usually talking
on the phone with guys, and blasting her
music. But this morning, I heard nothing but my own breaths. I groped for my glasses on the table, and put them on. I walked out of
    the room,
and looked out the window, there was Sheela running around on the beach with two guys. They both were
carrying surfboards. Then one turned around. I felt as if I couldn’t breath, it was him, Spencer, with his brother,
on the beach in front of me. I didn’t know what to do. I starred then suddenly Spencer
turned around and looked at me. I panicked and crouched below the window knocking over stuff off the table.
I peeked up and he was smiling at me laughing, his white teeth sparkling. I started laughing to. The first time I laughed
during this trip. I wanted a reason to go down there and talk to him. But I needed a reason. I glanced on the
kitchen table and saw the glasses he
    let me use.
I ran into the bathroom, and washed
my face, and fixed my blonde wavy hair. I grabbed the
glasses and walked down onto the
beach. When he turned around our eyes met, and locked. I was walking off the last step that led onto the
beach, when I stumbled over my feet and fell face first into the hot sand. Spencer ran over and helped me
up. “You just keep falling don’t you?” he smiled. “I’m not very coordinated.” I smiled. I looked down at the glasses, and saw the lens, they were shattered. “Oh my
Gosh, I am so sorry.” “He smiled “it’s fine.” For a split second we starred, and then he broke the silence. “wanna come swim with us?”
    I thought about it.
I couldn’t say I couldn’t swim. But before I could even think the word yes, rolled out of my mouth. Before I knew it I was walking back up to the beach house to go change into a bathing suit.

    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Six
We pulled into the parking lot of some super fancy
restaurant, something only Sheela could afford.
We walked in, and like in all fancy restaurants, the lights
    were dimmed. I hated that.
Sheela didn’t let me where my glasses, so
    I couldn’t see a thing. As I walked closer
    something stood out to me
    in the crowd of people.
Dazzling blue eyes, just starring at me from across the room.
And it was that instant that I knew who
marks brother was. It was the boy who helped me fix my car,
the boy with the surf bored, the boy with the fake girlfriend.
I couldn’t believe it. I wanted to run and hide, I wanted to turn the opposite direction but my feet kept
going forward. Everything was in slow motion,
and soon enough I was sitting at a table.
    Minutes, felt like hours, slight
smiles were exchanged between me and him, who’s name I
didn’t even know. I got up out of my chair
to go to the bathroom when I stumbled over the
table and fell. This is what I get for not wearing my glasses. Before I knew it I was being helped up by him. Sheela
    and Mark just stared.
He grabbed my hands and looked me in the eyes and whispered, “I’m Spencer” I stood there in awe when the words finally
rolled out of my mouth. “I’m Meagan.”
He smiled and handed me a pair of
glasses from his pocked. “ I think you need these.” I slowly took them out of his hand and put them on. I was wearing his glasses.
We talked a little, but soon I became mad at him. He was practically making me droll all over him with his stories, good looks, and skills, when he had a girlfriend.

    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Five
Before I knew it Sheela was covering my face with makeup. I could tell she was excited for the date, that’s the only reason I let her.
    She had picked
out an outfit for me and
everything. I couldn’t say no. A couple hours ago she
had to give me a whole lesson on how to walk
in heels, I didn’t know how hard it was until today. I guess you
could say that I looked gorgeous.
But Sheela looked better, it was
typical of her to make herself look nicer because well, that’s just who Sheela was, and I had
    no problem with that.

    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Four
The next morning I woke up to the smell of bacon, a smell I haven’t woken up to in years. I rolled out of bed, and trudged
down the hall into the tiny kitchen.
And standing in front of the stove, for the first time ever in my life I saw Sheela. “What’s this?” I said. “ nothing, I’m just happy. Remember the boy I went out with last night? Well we really
hit it off, and he wants to
see me again.. He said he has a brother..and I though maybe
double date?” I just stared at her “ Sheela, you know I hate blind
dates, I mean neither me or you
have seen this kid, he could be a complete weirdo for all we know” Sheela replied, “well he can’t be a weirdo,
because mark is really hot, his brother has to be the same.” “Alright fine” I said. “I’ll go if you give me some bacon.”
Sheela smiled and tossed bacon on my plate. I sat outside eating, and watching the waves hit the sand.
I thought about the noises the
    beach made. Everything
    was just beautiful.

    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Three
He stopped in front of me.
I tried to say something, but nothing came out.
His gorgeous eyes made me melt.
    “Want some help?”
I didn’t know what to say, I felt as if my own words were drowning me. All I could do was nod.
I sat on the curb for a half
hour with his girlfriend. The silence was painful, and she smelled like she dumped whole bottle of cheap perfume on
herself. Finally he finished. I didn’t know what to say. He fixed my piece of junk I call a car. I gave him a slight smile and
thanked him. As him and his girlfriend walked away, I couldn’t look away. My eyes were glued on him.

    The Summer of My Life
    Chapter Two
Later that night I relaxed in the beach house, we watched chick flicks until Sheela’s phone went off. She looked at it and gave a slight smile.
    She grabbed her purse.
“ I’m going out. Ill be back by 11. “I rolled my eyes.
Typical Sheela. I probably sat for another hour, when I looked at the time. It was already 8 o clock and we had nothing in
this stupid beach house to eat. I decided to be the responsible one and go to the market. I grabbed my bag, and
left in a pair of baggy sweats and I tee shirt. I walked out side, and saw a bunch of blonde chicks with plump red lips, mini skirts, and
high heels walked by and laugh at me.
If Sheela were here she would of beat the crap out of them. But she wasn’t. It was just me. I hopped into my truck and started
to drive. My car made a loud noise like
someone was hitting it with a hammer, but it always did that. I was about two miles down the street when my car broke down in front of some wild beach party. My luck. I probably
worked on it for about 15 minutes when the same boy I saw at the beach walked up to me. What looked to be his girlfriend trailed
behind him. She was the same blonde I saw at my house. With every step he took, my heart got faster, and faster, my breaths got shorter, and I didn’t know what to expect
