   It's kind of a scary thought
   that at any point in any day you could be standing next to someone
   completely broken, who's hiding it behind a smile, and you would never know.
   that person you sit near in class who you don't talk to,
   or that stranger you were on the elevator with,
   they could self harm, have an eating disorder, or be suicidal, and you may never know.
   even the people you do know,
   you may never know what they think.
   it's somewhat frightening to think that the people you know so well,
   you might not actually know them at all, you know the act they put on.

   why would they lie to me?
   do they not want to hurt me?
   do I seem that easily offended?
   do they not trust me?
   what did I do wrong?

    That kid you knew when you were little. do you ever wonder where they are now, if they're happy with their lives and themselves. if they have good friends, and possibly relationships, and a happy family?
    The quiet kid. do you ever wonder why their so quiet why the don't talk, how they feel, what they're lives are like. what they're thinking about?
    That friend who you drifted apart from. do you ever wonder if they think about the memories they had with you, the inside jokes, the funny moments, the deep conversations. the silly pointless fights do you ever wonder if they get the urge to talk to you and try to get that friendship back?
