There are so many people who are better than me! I think they just don't spend the time to do it or something (check out aellyniq. She's soooo good).
I used to have technology for lessons and my teacher gave us printouts from the site you mentioned so I was basically learning from there but in a more structured/ordered way? He printed out the basics and after I started understanding how html coding worked (how to colour text, do backgrounds), I developed it more by looking at the coding of the quotes on Witty ^-^

Hahaha it's not that I'm getting better. It's because the site design is simpler and there are less images to copy. It's much cleaner, too ^-^
