    Traveling Soldier
    Chapter 1
I pulled up to my date's house with my mom five minutes after eight. Almost on time, like every other occasion of my life.
Andrew lived in a beautiful house, huge, and much nicer than mine. Butterflies awoke in my stomach as I rang the doorbell. I wasn't nervous to see him, I had no feelings for him in any way, but I was a sophomore, walking into a pre homecoming party, of only seniors, at a beautiful house, with people I didn't know.
I swallowed hard as I saw a blurry figure approach the door, "Ally! Hi, come in!" Andrew smiled down at me and gently wrapped his arm around my waste as he walked me inside.
I came up to just above his shoulder with heels on, my short brown hair was pulled loosely back into a messy bun, and my green eyes were outlined in brown makeup. My black dressed was tight at the top and flowed around my thighs, giving me the allusion of curves, which at 15, I barely had any of.
I could hear the sounds of a video game coming from upstairs, but as we approached the kitchen those noises faded. I could feel my cheeks turn red as I entered the room, all the girls looked at me and I could see laughter in their eyes, but the boys looked at me as if I was something new and exciting, a toy they had yet to get the chance to play with. A smirk found it's way onto my lips, I had never been friends with many girls, always seemed to fit better with the guys, and tonight would be no different.
Slowly, the night went on, pictures were taken, food was eaten, and friends were made. But as 7p.m neared all of us rounded up at the door for one final picture before heading to the dance. I climbed the steps of the staircase, the sound of video games once again becoming prominent, and posed for a few group shots before a few of my new guy friends, Patrick, Lewis, and Alex, along with my date Andrew, dragged me up to the balcony for a final picture. Before I could say no they had lifted me up, swung my legs over the railing, and sat me on the edge. I crossed my legs like a lady and wrapped my arms around the boys, smiling flirtatiously at the camera's and jealous girls at the bottom of the staircase.
I grabbed the railing as the boys backed up and the video game noise stopped, slowly I started to bring my legs back over to safety when a pair of arms wrapped themselves around me from behind and pulled me over quickly. My eyes were met with warm blue ones for just a second before a boy I hadn't met put me down on my feet.
We were standing inches away from each other, his breath warm on my awestruck face. Quickly, I took in his face. Blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, chiseled features, and a smile that made me want to melt. I opened my mouth to say hello, but Andrew grabbed my wrist and pulled me down the stairs, the car was leaving and the dance was about to start.
As I was in the doorway, I turned around to see the boy leaning up against the railing, arms crossed, half smile glued to his face. My eyes didn't leave his until the door was shut, and he was well out of my line of sight.
Quickly I hopped into the big SUV, and we were speeding down the road in a rush to get to the dance, my mind still lingering on the boy on the stairs.
As we approached the school my excitement grew, and when Andrew opened the door for me I jumped out, ready to keep the night going. He gave the teachers at the door my ticket and we walked in with a group of friends.
Immediately I was engulfed in people, bodies swarmed around me, and sweat beaded up on my forehead as I found my way into the middle of the dance floor. Andrew and his friends made a wide circle and we all began dancing, Andrew hard pressed up against my back.
The dance was about an hour in when I started dancing my way around our whole group of friends, bouncing between boys as the songs changed, always having fun and making faces at whoever I wasn’t with.
As the time passed and we reached the final hour of the dance, I walked away from Patrick and was about to head over to Andrew when another pair of arms wrapped around me, a familiar pair of arms that sent shivers up my spine. He pulled me in close and slowly we began rocking with the music, our bodies molding perfectly to each other, hips knowing exactly how to move without bumping into each other.
I knew who was behind me without even looking and as if on cue I put more energy into this song than I had any other, not knowing why but knowing that I wanted to impress this boy more than any other I’d met that night.
Songs flew by and he never released my hips from his grasp and somewhere along the line had woven his fingers into mine.
The last song began and I spun around to face him, his blue eyes stunning me once again. I laced my fingers together behind his head as he pulled me close, hands strongly placed on my lower back. I smiled up at him and we swayed to the slow beat of whatever song had come over the speakers. Gently I placed my head on his shoulder, not knowing a single thing about this boy, or even his name, but knowing that there was such a strong connection between us that something good had to come out of it.
As the song came to an end, I went to speak to him for the first time, but he beat me to it.
He whispered five words to me, his voice making my knees weak, “I’ll find you, I promise.”
And with that he was gone with the crowd.
Andrew found me and as he drove me home, I couldn’t take my mind of that boy, my face red with excitement and wonder. Did he think the night was as perfect as I did, who was he, was he even thinking of me? My mind raced, and as I changed out of my dress and into pajama’s I plopped down on my bed, curled up with my teddy bear, and fell asleep smiling, reliving the dance in my dreams.

Alrighty, that's the first chapter I guess! A little background on this story? It's all true, I promise. It happened to me when I was in highschool, and is still happening right now. I don't know the ending of it just yet, but everything leading up to it thus far has been something to write about. I know it may seem a little hard to believe, and as I get more into it, it'll definetaly seem made up but I promise you none of it is.
Favorite if you want to read more(: And the song to go along with it is Enchanted by Taylor Swift.
P.S if anyone has a fun background/format for this and would like to share please do! I have absolutely no idea how to do any of this stuff lol
