    "Carson, we need to talk."
It was the next day since I found out Carson lied about Cole smoking pot. And since I knew Carson was coming over today, I was definately going to confront him for lying to me.
I thought he was my best friend?
"Sure thing. What's up Ames?" Carson says coming over to me.
"Why did you lie about Cole smoking pot?"
Carson had a angry look on his face and then spoke, "I didn't lie, what the heck Amy?"
"Yes you did. When Cole promises, he doesn't lie. And he promised me he didn't smoke pot!"
"Well then, obviously you don't have a very good boyfriend." Carson starts walking away.
"No, obviously I don't have a good best friend!"
Carson turns back around. "You'll regret that." Then he walks back to Mitch.
I guess I needed to talk to Kenny. He was in the same grade as Mitch and Carson. He smokes pot and he can't lie.
I quickly text Kenny and ask him if I can stop by his house, since it's right around the block. He was probably confused, but he text back and said sure.
I waved Mitch and Carson goodbye, but Carson wouldn't even look at me.
Well, that's what he gets for lying.
When I finally make my way to Kenny's, I knock on the door, and he sits on the porch with me.
"So what's up Little A?" Yupp, Little A. That's my nickname.
"You wouldn't lie to me, right Kenny?"
"Even if something is going to cause trouble, I could never lie. You know that." Kenny says honestly.
"Kay, did Cole smoke pot at the last party you guys went too?"
"Uh, yeah? He even told us not tell his controlling girlfriend. All the guys wanted to tell you, but we felt bad. So we just waited till you asked one of us."
"Wow. I can't believe him. Thanks for telling me Kenny." I smile.
Before I left, I told Cole to go to the park, which he happily said he would.
Finally I arrived at the park. Cole came over and hugged me.
    "Whats wrong, babe?"
"You do know Kenny never lies right?"
    "Yeah, your point is?"
"He told me you smoked pot. And what you said."
"Babe, look. I didn't want to look dumb. I'm sorry."
"No, Cole! I'm sick of you lying to me!"
"Babe, I'm sorry. I promise I won't do it again."
NOTE: Please go back and fave the others. Newest chapter of this up tomorrow :D

    "HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY!"
I shoot up from my bed and look around to see my mom, dad, Mitch, Carson, and Sierra.
I smile at them. "Thanks, but you could've waited for me to wake up."
"But it's my little sis' 16th birthday. And it was Carson's idea."
"Dude it was yours!" Carson turns to Mitch.
"Guys, it's fine." I smile. "I love you guys, but get out while I talk to Sierra."
My mom, dad, Mitch, and Carson shoot me glares but then walk out of my room.
As soon as my door shuts I turn to Sierra.
    "Where's Cole?"
"He went to go get the cake and ice cream." Sierra explains.
"Okay, well I needed you in here to pick my outfit for me." I smirk.
    Sierra sighs. "Fine."
    "You love me."
Sierra shakes her head and looks for something plain. I wasn't a dressy person.
Sierra picked out a yellow hollister shirt with some light hollister skinny jeans.
"I figured not to pick out jeans with holes so you would look nicer."
I roll my eyes at Sierra. She hated jeans with holes.
I took a shower last night, so I took my hair out of my pony tail and combed my straight hair.
"Why do you have to be so perfect?" Sierra grunts.
"Says the natural bleach blonde with blue eyes."
"I'm not a fake barbie though!"
    .~.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR AMY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" Everyone sings as I blow out my candles.
"I hope you made a wish." Cole whispers in my ear.
I giggle and look at him. "I already have my wish."
Cole leans down and gives me a quick peck.
"HEY NO KISSING!" My dad jokes.
    "Hey, where's Carson?" I ask.
I feel Cole tense up behind me. He hates Carson but he acts like he doesn't. He thinks something is going on between us, but I try to tell him that Carson is basically part of the family.
"He had to get your present." Mitch tells me.
When Carson finally arrives, we eat cake and ice cream, and I opened most of my presents.
My mom and dad got me a bunch of clothes, because that's all I wanted.
Mitch got me anew ipod since mine broke.
Sierra got me the boots I've always wanted.
And now I'm opening Cole's. They were heart earrings. Gold ones. I hated gold jewlery, and I told him that..
    "Oh, thanks Cole!" I smile.
    "Here, open mine." Carson says.
Carson was smiling really wide so I knew he was impressed with his gift.
I open the gift to reaveal and book with a bunch of pictures of Carson and I, are Carson, Mitch, and I. Then there was a silver necklace that had a shape of a heart. In the inside, it was me Mitch, and Carson.
"I love it." I gasp. "Silver, just the way I like it." I whisper.
NOTE: So, I'm going to try one last time on here. No promises though.. CW on wattpad is farther than it was on here. I missed you guys and I'm sorry..

After I opened Carson's presents, Cole was kind of mad and made an excuse to leave.
I didn't know what the big deal was? He knows I HATE gold.
I love silver, and Carson remembered.
    Sierra had left too.
I was currently adding songs to my new ipod.
Cole hasn't text me for a few hours, which wasn't like him.
    He always text me.
I liked him a lot. The only thing I didn't like was the way he acted because of popularity.
He became pretty popular when he started dating me.
But that was only because of my brother.
He does things he doesn't want to do, just because his new "popular" friends want him too.
It's completely annoying. I sat down on my bed when I heard a knock.
    "Come in."
The door opens to reveal Carson.
    "Hey Car."
"Hey Amy, having a good day?"
"I guess. Cole and I are fighting but, it's fine.." I tell him.
"Oh, well uh.. did you like the present I got you?" He asks.
"I loved it. That was the most thoughtful gift I've ever gotten. Thanks, Carson." I smile.
"Good, and uhm.. I came here to tell you something.." Carson starts.
    "What is it?"
Okay, this was freaking me out. It was either about a girl he liked, Cole, or just something about him. Oh gosh, why did he have to come to me? I'm freaking out now! I mean he knows a lot about me and Cole so maybe it's about Cole.. Not that, that is any better.
"Cole was smoking pot at the party..."

Wow. And I was just telling myself about how he does things he doesn't really want to do because of popularity.
    Unbelieveable.
"Please tell me you are joking." I beg Carson.
"He was smoking it about an hour ago. I came as soon as I could." He tells me.
"Wow. He always tells me how he would never do it again."
"I'm sorry, Amy. But I've got to go. I just figured I'd tell you since you're my best friend." He stands up.
"Thanks Carson. Thanks for being my best friend." I stand up also and hug him.
    Then he leaves.
I text Cole telling him to meet me at the park in an hour.
He was probably going home to take a shower and brush his teeth.
Ha, he thinks he didn't get caught.
I watched a couple shows and then started walking to the park.
I'm not really afraid to confront people, even if this was my boyfriend.
He knows I don't like it when he does that stuff.
Is it really wrong that I care?
Cole was already sitting on a swing when I arrived. I sat down on the swing next to him.
"So what'd you do after my birthday?"
"Just hung out with a few friends at a party."
    Okay so partially the truth.
"Did you do anything? Like drink, smoke pot...?"
"No, babe. I promise." He tells me.
"Cole! Don't lie to me! Carson told me!" I yell standing up.
"Oh of course Carson told you. He's a liar!"
    "No you're the liar Cole!"
"Carson just has a thing for you! He doesn't like me so he lied. Trust me babe, I promise. I really do promise."
    Why would Carson lie?
"Fine, I believe you.. I'm sorry."

    Chapter 23
I felt numb and paralyzed, as I stared out at the ocean before my eyes.
Since it was nearly winter, the waves were sending harsh winds towards the shore, pulling my hair out of my neck.
I closed my eyes, as I felt shivers being send down my spine from the chilliness.
My mind still wasn't able to register the fact that Scarlet and Travis were together at one point in their lives, whether it was a fling or not.
The two of them slept together in the past, yet none of them bothered to tell me this whole time.
I clenched my fists so tightly, as I felt my nails dig into my palms.
"You've been ignoring my calls." a voice suddenly said from behind, making me turn around.
My eyes locked into Travis' green orbs, as I felt my heart sink to the pit of my stomach.
He was coming closer to me with each step he took.
I was scared that if he didn't stop any time soon, I wasn't going to be able to control myself.
I was in love with Travis, but I knew that I couldn't be.
He hooked up with Scarlet, and left her.
"I've been busier than usual." I lied right through my teeth.
Travis shoved his hands in his pockets, and I was almost a hundred percent sure that he was fumbling with his pack of cigarettes.
Travis stared at me, long and hard, before he unclenched his jaw.
"Really?" he asked, with a hint of a sarcastic tone on the tip of his tongue. "Because I was starting to believe that you hate me."
I stared down at the damp grains of sand that were below my feet, licking my dry lips.
I knew that no matter what, I wasn't going to be able to hate Travis.
    "I don't hate you." I muttered.
"Really? I was sure that you were going to once Scarlet told you all those lies." Travis said, his voice so calm and collected.
My eyes snapped up, as if if were an immediate instinct.
"What are you talking about?" I whispered. "You're the one who left Scarlet after the two if you slept."
Travis rolled his eyes, before letting out a dramatic breath of air. "I was drunk and high, Riley." he looked at me, dead in the eyes. "I don't even remember what happened that night. Besides, it was two years ago. I can't believe Scarlet's still talking about it."
I resisted the urge to glare at him, as I gulped. "But she loved you."
Travis groaned with frustration, before running a hand through his messy locks.
"I don't care about her, Riley." he whispered. "God damn, I care about you."
I stared at Travis, long and hard.
My heart was beating out of my chest, as my hands shook by my sides.
Travis Kapone, the guy who was the complete opposite of what I was, was telling me that he cares about me.
I was happy, yes I was, but I was also confused as to where this leads us.
I was in love with him, and he cared about me.
"I'll see you in school." Travis suddenly said, when I didn't say anything back to him.
He held my gaze for a moment longer, before a faint smile appeared on the corners of his lips.
"And I'll bring you Oreo's." Travis smirked. "They're your favorite, aren't they?"

    Chapter 16
This was the first time I was ever experiencing a hurricane.
The wind was blowing rapidly outside, whipping my hair out of my neck, and the rain was coming down hard.
I looked up at the sky, knowing for sure that this hurricane wasn't going to end soon.
There was already a pond of water on Travis' lawn, ruining the bright, lucid green grass.
"Are you coming inside or are you just going to get rained on?!" Travis called, already at his top steps.
His hood was over his head, covering his hair from getting dampened in the rain.
I was staring up at Travis' house, still awestruck at how big it was.
When Travis called my name out, I snapped out of trance, running up towards the door that Travis had already opened.
Not wanting to get my muddy shoes all over Travis' carpet, I kicked off my shoes by the sides.
My entire sweater was soaking wet from the down pour outside, making me shiver from the coldness.
But, my shivering was ignored once my jaw dropped at the sight of Travis' house.
Everything looked so expensive and polished.
"Damn, I didn't think you were serious when you said your parents were freaking loaded." I muttered under my breath, a strand of wet hair falling in my face.
I heard Travis snort, as I followed him up the grand, spiral staircase.
I bit my lip insecurely, wondering if I was making the place dirtier by just stepping in it.
Travis' house was totally out of my league.
"Do you need a spare change of clothes?" Travis asked, once we stopped by his room.
He was already rummaging through his dressers, fishing out a loose t-shirt and some sweatpants.
I was too busy staring at his room to notice that he had tossed the clothes at me.
The room looked brand new- as if no one had ever slept in it.
The sheets were smooth and neatly made, which made me curious.
Knowing Travis, he would never do his own bed.
"I don't sleep at home a lot." Travis explained, noticing the frown I had on my face. "I usually crash at a friend's place when my parents are home."
I nodded slowly. "They aren't home now?"
Travis shook his head, running a hand through his dampened hair. "No."
I bit on my lower lips, as I reached down to pick up the clothes that Travis got for me.
I ordered him to get out, as Travis gave me a smirk before closing his bedroom door behind him.
I held a smile on my face, as I stripped out of my wet clothes, tossing them to the side.
The t-shirt Travis gave me was a bit too big on me, reaching just a few inches above my mid-thigh.
Before I got to put my sweatpants on, though, my phone rang from my soaked jeans.
I groaned, reaching over to take out my phone.
"Mom?" I muttered, pressing the phone to my ears.
"Honey, where are you?" she asked with panic. "The house has no electricity, and you haven't called me since you got out of school! Are you safe?"
I let out a low laugh, shaking my head. "I'm fine mom, at a friend's house."
    "Who, Scarlet?" my mother question.
I bit my lower lip hesitantly. "Yes, Scarlet." I lied right through my teeth.
"That's good." my mother muttered on the other line. "Stay over at her place until the storm clears up, okay? I don't want you walking out in the streets in this weather."
"I got it, mom." I smiled. "Love you."
"Love you too." my mother said, before the two of us hung up.
Before I could even get my sweatpants on, Travis' bedroom door swung open.

    Chapter eleven
    "Knock knock."
    "Who's there?"
    "Cows go."
    "Cows go who?"
    "No, cows go moo!"
I rolled my eyes and laughed at Ben's corny jokes.
    "Okay, that one was bad."
"Oh, come on! They can't be that bad."
    "They were worse," I laughed.
I had been spending time at Ben's behind Alex's back and I was having the most fun I'd had in ages.
I groaned. "I have to meet Alex in half an hour to buy a dress for the winter formal."
"You're going with him?" Ben raised an eyebrow.
    "Do I have a choice?"
    "Let me take you home."
Ben drove me home ten minutes before Alex was due to pick me up. I waved goodbye to him then rushed inside and fixed up my makeup and got changed into something more suitable for going out rather than my old hoodie and jeans. I sat upstairs waiting for the usual honk to signal me to come outside, but it never came. Instead I heard a knock at the door.
"Jess! Alex is here for you!" My mum called out to me.
That was weird, he never usually came up to the door. I ran downstairs and to the door. Alex gave me a peck on the cheek.
"Goodbye Mrs Green!" Alex waved politely to my mum.
"You too have fun!" My mum called back before closing the door.
When we got to the car he opened the door for me. I wanted to ask Alex what was up with him but I didn't. We pulled up to shopping mall and entered a small botique.
"Okay, which dress catches your eye?" Alex smiled, baring his pearly whites.
"Um, I don't know," I bit my lip. "What are you wearing?"
    "What about this?"
He held up a light blue glittery dress which shone under the light. It was amazing.
    I gasped. "Wow, it's beautiful."
    "We'll get you this then."
I took one look at the price tag and shook my head.
"No way, I'm not paying this much for a dress, no matter how gorgeous it is."
"You don't have to. I'm paying for it."
I arched an eyebrow. Why was he being so nice?

    Chapter 9
I rounded up Scarlet the next afternoon to go shopping, for the sake of old times.
The two of us had been distant ever since Travis came into the picture between us, but I was trying to my best save our friendship.
After all, I had no idea why Scarlet had it out for Travis.
Until she gives me a legitimate reason to not be around Travis, I wasn't going to listen to her demands.
"This dress would look good on you." I held a salmon pink sundress in front of Scarlet's chest. "It looks really good with your blonde hair."
Scarlet ignored me, as she cleared her throat. "Yeah, whatever." she muttered. "Tell me what's going on with you and Travis."
I shot her a look of irritation, as I decided to no respond to her.
Why was she ruining a perfectly good shopping day over this?
"I don't see anything I like here." I let out a sigh, tossing the dress back onto the rack. "Let's go to another store, yeah?"
Scarlet rolled her eyes, as she dropped the subject.
As we exited the store, I couldn't help but feel relieved at the fact that she wasn't constantly pestering me over Travis.
    ***
The shopping trip hadn't gone as well as I planned.
Scarlet pretty much shut me off for the entire rest of the day, only replying to me with mutters whenever I asked her a question.
At the end of the day, after dinner, when the sky became dark, I decided to ring up Travis, the only one who I wanted to talk to at the moment.
I told him to meet me at the park, at the bench that we always hung around at.
Since the sky had grown pitch dark by now, I threw on a university sweatshirt before I met Travis outside.
I was there before him, waiting an exact ten minutes, but I was glad that he eventually did show up.
"Sorry I'm late." Travis muttered, as he planked himself down on the seat besides me. "You kind of called at the last minute."
I stared up at Travis, frowning. "Really? What were you doing?"
Travis ran a hand through his hair, shrugging. "I was about to go out to a party, but it's no big deal, really."
I raised an eyebrow, as I felt a suddenly wash of guilt. "Oh." I muttered. "Sorry, you could go back now if you want. I mean, the night is still early for a-"
Travis chuckled, as he turned towards me with an amused expression.
"Relax, Riley." he reassured. "It was another dumb high school party with a bunch of idiots who can't handle their liquor, anyways. I was kind of glad you called me before I was dragged away by my friend."
I instantly felt a weight lifted off of my shoulders, as I smiled. "Alright, that's good, I guess."
Travis nodded, staring up at the sky. The stars had been out already, as they shined bright above us.
"So, why did you call me out here anyways?" Travis asked.
I rolled my eyes. "To talk. Unless you would rather go to that party where you can see a bunch of girls half naked?"
Travis smirked, before shaking his head. "I'd rather spend time with you, honestly."
And that was all it took for the two of us to spend the entire night together, just talking.

    Chapter 8
Travis was having his eleventh cigarette for today.
I watched as he pulled the pack of cigarettes out of his pockets before lighting the tip up.
I cringed as he took a sharp intake of the smoke, letting out a gust of gray air.
"Don't you think you've had more than enough for today?" I asked, crossing my arms, as sat at the park bench later that afternoon.
Travis gave me a mere shrug, before slumping down in his seat.
"You can never have enough of these babies." he muttered, before exhaling.
The smell of smoke reached my nose, as I scrunched it up with disgust.
"I hope you know that stuff can kill you one day, you know?" I pointed out.
I considered Travis a friend by now, and I didn't want to see one of my friends die at a young age because of something like lung cancer from smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.
"Who cares?" Travis shrugged. "We all die eventually."
I glared at Travis, before crossing my arms.
    God, he was so stubborn.
"You're a really negative person." I blandly said. "I guess it suits you, though."
Travis smirked, throwing his head back in laughter. "Riley, shouldn't you know by now that everything suits me?"
I rolled my eyes, as I pushed him in the shoulder.
He barely budged from his position, as he smirked down at me.
"You have such an ego in that empty head of yours." I teased, sticking my tongue out at him.
Travis chuckled, as he tossed his finished cigarette onto the concrete.
I watched with wide eyes as he reached over in his pocket to take out yet another damned cigarette.
Quickly, I clamped my hand over his, snatching the pack away from his fingertips.
"Hey!" he snapped, trying to take back what was his.
I stuffed the pack of cigarettes in my pocket, as I guarded them protectively.
"I'm trying to help you here, Travis." I said sternly. "I think you've had your fair share of cigarettes today."
Travis' features suddenly weren't so playful anymore.
He had a look of irritation written across his face, as he reached over my body to try to get into the pocket of my hoodie.
My eyes widened, as I pushed him off. "What are you doing?!" I snapped.
Travis gave me a bland look. "I'm trying to take back my stuff."
I groaned, shooting him a look. "No, Travis! You aren't getting these back!"
Travis raised an eyebrow, as a smirk appeared across his lips. "Is that a challenge?"
My eyes suddenly went broad, as Travis laced his arms around me to try to get the cigarettes.
I cursed under my breath when he found out that I was tickilish.
"Travis!" I hissed, while holding my a laugh from where he was tickling my sides. "Stop it, you idiot!"
    "Give it!" Travis warned.
    "No!"
The pain of being tickled was unbearable.
I didn't even realize how close the two of us had gotten.
He was literally hovering over me, chest pressed against mine.
My mouth went dry, as I felt Travis' hand sneak inside my pocket.
Quickly, I got the pack of cigarettes before he did, and stuffed them down my top, right where my chest was.
Travis' eyes went wide, realizing that he lost.
"Now, get off of me." I gave him a push.

    Chapter 5
The next morning, I surprisingly found Scarlet waiting by my locker.
She had her back against my metal locker, as she stood there waiting for me patiently.
When she saw me from down the hall, she stood up on her two feet.
She gave me a warm smile, waving at me from the distance.
    So what now?
Did she decide to finally apologize to me for blowing up on me in front of the entire cafeteria?
"Hi Riley!" she smiled bubbily, as I opened my locker to get out my books for the morning.
I gave her a tight smile, not looking at her in the eyes.
    "Hi Scarlet." I mumbled.
Scarlet curled the end of her side braid with the tip of her fingers, as she continued to smile at me, like there was nothing wrong.
"So, I thought about over the past night," she paused, as I finally stared up at her, "and I totally want to tell you that I forgive you for what you did."
My eyes snapped up to hers, as I stared at my best friend of six years with disbelief.
I studied her face for a moment longer, trying to find any traces of sarcasm.
Sadly, I didn't find an ounce of playfulness.
    Scarlet was completely serious.
"Forgive me for what I did?" I uttered out, still in shock. "What did I do?"
Scarlet rolled her eyes, letting out a bitter laugh.
"For annoying me about questions of Travis." Scarlet smiled. "It's okay, I know it's going to be hard to say sorry, so I'm just going to forgive you."
I blinked at her with my jaw still dropped.
Never have I ever wanted to rip out someone's hair more than I did right now.
"Anyways, moving on!" she giggled, looping her arm around mine. "I just got these new pair of heels that I want you to see."

"And then, she tells me that she forgives me for asking too many questions about you!" I snapped angrily, venting my feelings out to Travis.
Travis laughed, as he took a long drag out of his cigarette.
I honestly don't know how we ended up here together at the park bench, but we did. just like we had yesterday.
"No offense, but your so called best friend seems like a complete bit-"
I glared at him. "Don't even finish that sentence."
Travis rolled his eyes, pushing my shoulder. "You're such a pushover."
I gawked, as I stared at Travis with wide eyes. "I am not!"
"Yes, you are." Travis let out a puff of smoke, as I coughed. "Here she is, walking all over you, and you're letting her."
I glared at him, before crossing my arms stubbornly.
"What do you know, Travis?" I snapped. "You aren't a girl!"
Travis chuckled, before tossing his cigarette bud onto the concrete.
    "Damn right I'm not."

    Chapter 4
"What is that?" I asked, pointing to Travis' shoulder.
He turned around, frowning. "What is what?"
"That." I rolled my eyes, poking my finger against his shoulder that barely exposed one of his tattoos. "What tattoo is that?"
Travis smirked, as he unzipped his black hoodie, taking it off to show me his entire left arm that was covered with ink.
My eyes widened when I saw that he completely bare under the sweatshirt, though.
I choked on my saliva, as I stared at Travis with disbelief. "Why aren't you wearing a shirt under your hoodie?" I snapped.
Travis gave me a smug smile, before shrugging. "I don't think there's a point in it."
I blinked, staring at his pale abdomen that had just enough abs.
My cheeks turned red once I caught myself staring, as I looked away.
I heard Travis chuckling under his breath, before he turned to his side, showing me his entire left arm.
"This," he pointed to the area that I questioned about, "is a skull."
I stared at it longer, noticing that it wasn't your regular animated skull tattoo.
In fact, it was much more graphic, and had much more detail that made it scary.
"What does it mean?" I muttered, mesmerized by the skull.
Travis laughed, before he sank back into the bench, staring off at the ground.
"It has a funny story to it." he smiled. "The thing is, the skull was my first tattoo. And I got it when I was drunk."
I raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "That's nice." I sarcastically mumbled.
Travis rolled his eyes. "Let me finish, Riley." he paused. "So when I was getting it, I was completely wasted. But, some of my buds that were with me were sober. So, they told the tattoo artist to give me something daring. When I woke up the next morning and saw my tattoo the first time, not drunk, I kind of liked it. I decided that it would mean no fear. Like a rebel, you know?"
I smiled, before nodding. "A rebel." I repeated. "It suits you perfectly."
Travis snorted, before taking a cigarette out of his jean pocket.
Before lighting it, he turned to me with a smirk. "Never use that word around me, ever again."
I frowned, as Travis lighted up his cigarette, sticking it in between his lips.
    "Use what word?" I asked.
Travis inhaled the smoke, before letting it all out. "Perfect."
"Why not?" I asked, sitting up straighter.
Travis shrugged his bare shoulders, his hoodie still laying on his lap.
"Perfect is such a bad word." Travis muttered, flicking the ashes of his cigarette. "Perfect is... overrated."
I stared at Travis' face for a moment longer, finding no traces of playfulness whatsoever.
Sinking back into the bench, I thought about his words.
    Perfect is overrated.
    Well said, Travis Kapone.
