    Chapter6
"Soph? Are you ready to go?" Shay asked, walking into my room.
"How do I look?" I asked, nervously biting my lip. I wanted to look good, because I would be seeing a lot of old friends and Harry as well.
"So cute!" she said, admiring the blue tank I was wearing. I also wore a pair of white shorts with a brown belt. I had on brown sandals and some matching jewelry.
"harry's out on his porch, he's probably ready to go." Shay told me.
"Okay, let's roll!" I replied, then walked out of my room and told Tyler to let Ella know that I would be out late with friends at the bonfire.
Once I got out of the house, we walked over to Harry's yard.
"You two look good." he said, but mostly directed it towards me.
"Thanks, is Niall coming tonight?" Shay asked.
"He's inside if you want to invite him." Harry said, and Shay walked in the hosue.
"They can catch up with us later." Harry said, and started walking.
"I bet Shay won't even come. I think she really likes Niall." I responded.
"They're cute together." Harry said, and I agreed.
"Are we walking?" I asked, and he nodded his head.
"It's not very far, about fifteen minutes." he told me.
"Who's throwing it this year?" I asked, because every year a different person throws the bonfire party. I did it last year, and Harry the year before that.
"I think it's Will's year." he said. Will was a pretty cool guy.
We arrived fifteen minutes later, just like Harry said we would.
We walked onto the beach and said hi to a few of our friends before finding Will.
"I don't know if you can top last year's party." I said jokingly.
"Aw, it's Sophia!" Will said, then squeezed me into a hug.
"How have you been?" Harry asked him after we finished out embrace.
"Pretty good, just excited for this summer." he said. I second that.
"So, what crazy stuff is going down tonight?" Harry asked.
Will laughed, before saying that his girlfriend wanted to play truth or dare.
"That got out of hand last year." I said, glancing at Harry.
"Come on, it's fun! It's the first night the crew is reunited, let's do it." Will said.
So we sat in a circle near the fire and played truth or dare.
There were some stupid dares, like when Will had to touch the fire, or when our friend Alyssa had to stuff her bra with sand. Like I said, they were stupid dares.
"Okay, Soph, truth or dare?" Alyssa asked.
"Is that even a real question? Please. Dare." I replied.
"I dare you... to go in the ocean. Right now." she said, a smirk on her face.
"What? It's probably freezing right now!" I complained.
"I didn't finish. You get to choose one person, besides me, to go with you." she said.
"That's easy. Styles, get up, we're going in the water." I said.
"Why do you drag me into everything you do?" Harry asked, and I laughed.
"Your life wouldn't be nearly as exciting without me in it." I said.
"That's true. Alright, let's go." he said, and took the lead.
We ran into the ocean, and I was right. It was freezing!
But I looked back at the shore and saw everybody else was doing the same thing.
Soon, the ocean was filled with the crew. The same 8 kids that grew up together and spent every summer with each other. It was pretty awesome.

    Chapter5
"Harry! I thought you said you had rehearsal?"
Right as I was about to tell Harry that the kiss actually meant something to me, that blonde from the restaurant yesterday appeared. Amber.
"I do, later this afternoon." he replied, looking bored.
"Oh. Nice to see you again Sophia." she said, which annoyed me.
"What do you do for a living? Are you an actress?" I asked.
Harry looked confused, and Amber just tried to remain calm.
"Why would you ask that?" she asked, laughing sweetly and innocently.
"Well because yesterday you told me to back off, or else. And today you're acting like we're best friends or something." I said, looking her in the eye.
"I didn't mean it yesterday. I was just jealous." she said.
"Yeah, well jealousy is an ugly trait." I replied, then walked past her and over to the table where Niall and Shay were sitting and talking.
I looked over my shoulder and saw Harry and Amber still talking, but it looked like they were arguing. I turned back to talk with Shay and Niall.
Harry walked over a few minutes later, looking frustrated.
"Is everything okay?" I asked, wondering what had just happened.
He didn't answer me, so I just left him alone.
"Let's go in the water." I suggested, taking off my shirt and shorts.
I walked down to the ocean by myself, but a few minutes later, Shay and Niall ran down and dove into the cold sea. Harry was still at the table.
I waited a few more minutes, and when I looked back, he wasn't at the table.
I looked around, but I couldn't find him. That's when someone's arms wrapped around me and picked me up, then threw me in the ocean.
I looked back and saw Harry staring at me with a smirk on his face.
"Harry! You're such a jerk!" I exclaimed, trying to splash him.
"You don't mean that." he said, moving closer to me. My breath got caught in my throat, and he was smiling deviously at me.
"I surrender! I give up!" I said, throwing my hands up in the air.
"Good. You know I'll always win. I always have the upper hand." he said.
"What happened with you and Amber back there?" I asked.
"I just told her that we weren't getting back together. She assumed we were, and she's just too clingy. Not my type." he replied, as if it were no big deal.
"She wasn't even pretty anyway. You can do much better." I said.
"I have. But the feeling wasn't mutual at the time." he responded.
My mouth hung open, because I knew he was talking about me. Great.
"Relax, I'm only kidding." he said, chuckling.
"Not funny. That was actually mean." I said, and he was still laughing.
"Niall and I have to get to rehearsal. But tomorrow night there's a reunion bonfire at South Point." he said, referring to our favorite beach.
"I do love the reunion bonfires. What time?" I asked, and he told me 9.
"If you wanna come over before you can." he said, and I told him I would.
Something exciting always happened at the reuinion bonfires.
    Always.
    .................................
so next chapter will be the reunion bonfire, then after that i will probably so a flashback chapter!(: please let everyone know I'm back!

    Chapter4
"There's not much to tell. We had lunch, we kind of talked, and he said that we were still friends. He didn't even give me a chance to talk about the kiss." I said.
"Well did you want to? Or would it make you feel guilty again?" Shay asked.
"I wanted to tell him. I wanted to tell him that I should have at least stayed in contact. But I didn't have the chance to. Some blonde interrupted us." I told her.
"Was it his girlfriend? Oh snap." she said, her eyes widening, waiting for more info.
"No, but she said they were on and off. She told me to back off." I replied.
"You're not going to though. You can't let that girl tell you what to do." said Shay.
"I'm not going to back off. We've been best friends for 16 years, I can't just cut him out of my life. It doesn't work like that." I said, and she just nodded her head.
"So what next?" she asked, and I had to think about that.
"He wants to get together with you and Mikey. Is he back?" I asked.
"I think he's coming down next weekend." she said, and I thought for a moment.
"Well let's go to the beach tomorrow." I said, and she agreed. She told me she had to get home, so I said goodbye and we parted ways. I pulled out my phone and sent Harry a message. I told him that we were planning on going to the beach tomorrow if he wanted to join us. He replied and said it sounded fun, and asked if he could bring his friend. I said sure, but I really hoped it wasn't that girl from earlier.
I woke up the next morning and checked the clock. It was 2:00.
My sleep schedule had gotten really messed up, and if I was back home right now, it would only be eight in the morning. I rolled out of bed and checked my phone.
I had a few messages from Harry asking when I wanted to meet up.
I texted him back and said I was getting ready now and I would be out in 15 minutes.
I walked over to my suitcase and dug through it until I found my white bikini. I put it on, then threw on a pair of red shorts and a white top that said 'teenage riot.'
After I was finished getting dressed, I walked outside and saw Harry and one of his friends from the first day he got here waiting outside.
"Hey! You remember Niall." he said, and I waved. We started walking down the street and towards the beach. Shay was going to meet us there.
"So Harry tells me you guys have been friends for a while." Niall said.
"Practically forever." I replied, earning a laugh from the two.
"Look, there's Shay. She's cool Niall, you'll like her. And if I'm not mistaken, she's in between boyfriends, so..." Harry trailed off, but Niall got the hint.
Niall walked over and introduced himself, and Harry and I stayed back for a few minutes. He was about to say something, but I needed to say something first.
    "Harry, about that kiss..."

    Chapter 3
"Harry, I didn't know you'd be here. Who is this?" the blonde asked.
She looked to be about 5'7 and she had bright blue eyes and shiny white teeth.
"This is Sophia. Sophia, this is Amber." he said, not making eye contact.
"Nice to meet you." she said, although I could tell she didn't mean it.
I gave her a tight smile in reply before taking out my phone for something to do.
She kept talking to Harry for a few minutes, before he said he would talk to her later.
Before she walked away, she kissed him. On the cheek, but still.
"Sorry about that." he said, and I could tell he actually was. But who is she?
"She's pretty." I said, because I wanted him to tell me who she was.
He didn't reply, he just stared out the window at the busy road. Okay then.
We ordered a few minutes later and sat in silence before I finally said something.
"Is she your girlfriend?" I asked, and I was afraid of what he would say.
"Uh, um, no. Just a friend." he said vaguely. Why was he being like this?
"Harry, about last summer..." I started to say, before he interrupted.
"Look, just forget about it okay? It was a while ago." he told me.
"You were asking me to give up everything I've worked for. I couldn't just leave my life back home. I had to finish high school. You knew that." I said.
"You never called. You didn't even try to get ahold of me." he responded.
"Because you were on tour most of the time! And what was I supposed to say? Sorry I moved back to another country after we kissed? No." I told him.
"It would have been nice to know that you were thinking about me." he said.
"Harry, you've got to be kidding me! That kiss was all I could think about for months! I went to one of your concerts with a few friends, and it killed me knowing that the guy performing on stage probably never wanted to talk to me again."
"That's not true. You were my best friend Soph. Still are." he said, and I looked up.
"I am?" I asked, in disbelief. I figured the kiss would change everything.
"I've had a lot of time to think about it. And I'm not going to let one stupid kiss change 16 years of friendship. That would just be stupid." he told me.
"Good. Because this summer would be terrible if I couldn't spent it with you." I said.
"Look, I have to go. But call me later. You've got to hang out with the rest of the guys. Are Shay and Mikey back for the summer?" he asked.
"I think Shay is, but I'm not sure about Mikey. I'll call him later. Bye Harry."
As I walked back to my house, I found myself smiling. Today went better than I had expected. Except that girl. Something about her bugged me. And something about the way that Harry regarded her made me think they had a thing.
Time to find out. I saw her sitting on a bench ten feet away from me.
"Amber, can I ask you something?" I asked, trying to sound polite.
"What?" she snapped, obviously annoyed with something. Probably me.
"Are you and Harry dating?" I asked, and she just rolled her eyes.
"We're, like, on and off. But we're almost on again." she said, smirking at me.
"Oh, okay." I said, and was about to walk away before she stopped me.
"I'm not gonna let you mess this up. Stay away from him." she said.
"Or what? What are you gonna do to me?" I asked, suddenly irritated.
"Don't try me." she said, and I laughed in her face.
"Harry and I have been best friends for 16 years. If you think he's gonna choose you over me, that's cute. Reality check sweetie, you're just someone to entertain him for a few weeks, tops." I said, before turning around and walking away from her.
I could tell she was shocked. Good. She got what she deserved.
But why would Harry lie to me about not dating her? I mean, she did say they weren't on right now, but still. You'd think he'd mention it to me...
When I got back to my porch, I saw a girl with long black hair sitting there.
"Shay!" I screamed, and ran up the steps to where she was sitting.
"Hey baby girl! I missed you!" she said, giving me a hug.
"I just had lunch with Harry..." I said, and she suddenly looked interested.
    "Tell me everything."

    Chapter 2
"Hi Harry." I said, jumping down from our embrace.
He finally allowed himself to look me in the eye for the first time in nearly ten months.
"Hello Sophia." he replied, giving me a small smile. I could tell things were still tense between us, but at least he was talking to me. That's a good sign.
"Oh, um, these are my friends Liam, Niall, Louis and Zayn." he said.
"Hi, I'm Sophia." I said, introducing myself to the guys, who were the other four members of One Direction. They said hello before walking in the house.
"It's been a while." I said, wondering how he would reply to that.
"Yeah, it has. How have you been?" he asked, and I knew he actually cared.
"I've been okay. I'm just glad to be back at the summer house." I told him.
"Well, it was good seeing you again." he said, and he turned to walk away.
"Harry wait." I called out, and he turned back towards me.
"Can we catch up soon? Let's hang out tomorrow." I said, waiting for a response.
"Sure, we could go to The Grille." he responded, mentioning my favorite restaurant.
"That sounds great. Just text me when you wanna leave." I said.
He walked into his house after that and I walked back to mine. That went well.
"How was your walk?" Ella asked as she was setting the table.
"I saw Harry." I told her, and she suddenly looked interested.
"What did he say to you?" she asked, desperate for the details.
I wasn't one to keep my feelings to myself. Ella and I are really close, so of course I told her what happened last summer. We tell each other almost everything.
"I asked if we could catch up, and he said we should go to The Grille."
"Like a date? You can't lead the guy on Soph." she said.
"No, not like a date. Like two friends having lunch and catching up." I replied.
The rest of my night was pretty boring. I watched a movie with Ella and Tyler then went to my room and looked through old photo albums from previous summers. Almost every single one of them included a picture of Harry and me.
I woke up the next morning to a text message from Harry saying we should meet at noon. I glanced at my clock and saw that it was 11:45.
I've never been one to run on time, so hopefully he remembered that. I ran a brugh through my already straight brown hair and walked over to my suitcase, because I still wasn't unpacked. I pulled out a blue tank top that had a bow on it and a pair of white shorts with gold studs. I put on a pair of gold sandals, grabbed my phone, and walked towards the front door. I told Tyler to let Ella know I was with Harry, then walked out and made my way to The Grille to meet him.
It was time for me to find out if Harry was still the same person he had always been.
Deep down though, I knew he had changed. Because of me.
I walked in and saw him sitting at the table we usually sat at. I walked over and took a seat across from him. He was reading the menu, but I already knew what he wanted. We got the same thing every time that we came here. It was tradition.
"What's up? You're pretty quiet today." I said, taking the menu from him.
"I don't know what to say to the girl who I kissed last summer and haven't talked to since because she left. Sorry." he said, kind of rudely.
"Harry, I want to talk to you about that." I said, and was about to go into my explanation for why I left, but I was interrupted by a tall blonde walking over towards us. Do I know her? She doesn't look familiar.
    But she definitely knew Harry.

    Chapter 1
"Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts. Your flight will be landing shortly. Once again, thank you for choosing Delta Airlines."
I did as I was told and buckled my seat belt and took out my earbuds.
I looked out the window of the plane and I could see land.
I was anxious to get off the plane. After all, it was nearly a 14 hour flight.
The plane had a shaky landing, but we made it. I grabbed my carry-on and walked off the large plane and into the airport. I made my way to the baggage claim area and waited for the luggage from the plane I was just on to come out on the conveyor. I turned on my iPhone and checked my mesages.
Ella had texted me a few times during the flight, but I kept my phone off then.
She told me she would be picking me up, and I looked around for her.
I couldn't find her, but I did find my luggage. I grabbed my plain blue suitcase with the American flag on it and started rolling it towards the exit.
When I reached the exit, I saw a blonde with sunglasses on struggling to carry three drinks while talking on her cell phone. I opened the door for her.
"Sophia!" she said, her face breaking into a smile.
"Ella? You look so different!" I said, giving my older sister a hug.
"I wasn't sure how much longer your flight would be so I went to get coffees for Tyler and me. Luckily I ordered you one too!" she said, handing me the cup.
Tyler is Ella's fiancee. They're planning on getting married this summer, but it's just a thought. I've met him a few times before and he's really nice.
"Okay, so let's get you back to the house!" she said, walking back through the parking garage to where her car was parked. She called Tyler and told him we were at the car, and he came out a few minutes later.
When we finally reached our summer home, I smiled to myself.
I had so many memories here. This is my getaway. My second life.
I have friends here that I've known forever. I only see them in the summer, but that doesn't change things. We always have a good time together.
I kept glancing over towards the neighbors house to see if anyone was there.
Maybe his family wasn't coming this summer. I wouldn't be suprised if I never saw him again. Especially after what happened last summer.
I grabbed my suitcase and walked down the hall to my room, which looked exactly the same as the way I left it the summer before.
I fished through my carry-on to find my ray bans and slid them over my eyes before walking into the living room and telling Ella that I was going for a walk.
"Okay, have fun. Be back by seven, that's when we eat." she said.
I sent a text to my friend Shay, telling her I was in England now.
I just wandered around the neighborhood, waving to the elderly people I had come to recognize that were sitting on their front porch.
I guess I wasn't suprised that none of my friends were out here yet, because they're probably still finishing up school. I got out early, and couldn't wait any longer to come to my home away from home.
When I was walking back into my driveway, I saw him.
But he wasn't with his family. Instead, he was with four other guys.
I didn't know whether to say hi, or to just walk into my house.
i finally decided that he's been my friend for nearly 16 years, so I had to say hi.
I was planning on acting calm, but I couldn't contain myself.
I ran over and when he turned around and saw me coming, I jumped up and wrapped my legs around him, hugging him tight.
