TO BE A LOST BIRD
chapter two : part one
i looked at the little bird again. i wanted to stand up, but i was scared to; i didnt want him to fly away. but i took my chances anyways, and i stood up. the bird actully stayed perched on my shoulder! i think i had made my first friend in Chinook. i walked down the trail into the woods, thinking about everything. i was pretty sure my parents knew about the scroll, i mean it WAS in their book crate.. i just couldn't believe that they had never told me.. i mean they might not even be my real parents for god's sake! if they DID find me in Zeus' orb on a dig in greece.. that meant i really was the greek goddess Callisto. I needed to talk to my so called 'parents'. i needed answers. i walked back up the trail with my bird friend still on my shoulder, and up to the front door of my house. while i was walking, i decided to call my bird Horus, after the ancient egyptian god with a hawk head. so i said to the bird, "i've decided to call you Horus," little Horus chirped, and i continued to say, "i wish you could stay with me, but i dont think it would be a good idea to take you inside.. i hope i see you again horus, it seems you are the only one who understands me." i picked him up gently, and i threw him into the air, and he took off to the woods. i watched him leave, i sighed, and then i went inside of my house. i decided to unpack a bit more of my stuff, just untill my mom and dad came home, so i could ask all the questions that were swirling in my head. by 8pm, i was all unpacked, and my parents still hadn't come home. so, i went downstairs into our little cooler, and grabbed an apple. i ate it, and then i read some of my favorite book. i gave up on waiting for my parents, so i went upstairs, and got into my bed. i only hoped i wouldn't dream of my messed up life.
