I wrote this after the shooting in New Port

20 kids who won't ever go back to school,
20 kids who left knowing the world was cruel.
20 kids who were so full of cheer,
20 kids who were loved so dear.
20 kids who will never know,
20 kids who had no time to grow.
20 kids who were so innocent and shy,
20 families who should not have had to say goodbye.
20 kids who were excited for the season,
20 kids who left for no reason.
20 kids who will never celebrate Christmas again,
20 kids who left their best friend.
20 kids who weren't left alone,
20 kids who will never return home.
20 kids who unwillingly gave their life away,
20 kids who didn't stay.
20 kids who were filled with fear,
20 kids who's last sight was a sneer.
Many people heard the cry,
As 20 kids were sent to die.
