At six, my alarm went off like I had hoped it would.
I hopped out of bed with little Derek, who insisted on getting up with me.
I had no problem with that.
I loved Brian’s little brother to death.
“Which one?” I asked the three-year-old, holding up a pencil skirt and a polka-dot dress.
Derek pointed to the skirt.
“With this shirt?” I asked, holding up a floral printed, loose-fitting tank top.
He nodded and ran to his drawer pulling out a “Cars” t-shirt and plaid shorts.
“Cars!” he squealed, running around his room making race car noises while putting the shirt on his head at the same time.
His first day of preschool was today, since he turns four in a about three weeks.
I laughed and walked to the bathroom in the hallway.
It’s a good thing Brian has his own bathroom, because if we had to share one, things could’ve gotten very disastrous.
I pulled a chair up in front of the mirror and straightened my long, brown hair until there wasn’t a fly away in sight.
I applied some light makeup since my skin hasn’t had a bad breakout in the past few weeks, and put on my outfit.
By the time I had packed my bag and made sure Derek was all set, it was already seven in the morning, so I had a good thirty minutes to eat the pancakes Brian’s mom made for everyone.
She works, but astonishingly manages to feed everyone and clean the house, too, like I wish my mother could do.
“You look nice,” Brian’s mom complemented me, handing me a plate of pancakes, “Brian’s lucky to have a girl as pretty as you.”
I flushed, feeling the guilt come back to me when she said that.
“Thank you,” I said quietly, keeping my head down.
“Why so quiet?” her mom asked.
Before I could answer her question, Brian came walking downstairs, attracting attention to him.
His hair was messy, but he obviously put a little moose in it, to keep it that way.
He wore a v-neck, white t-shirt, blue jeans, a brown belt, and sunglasses.
I rolled my eyes.
He looked like he was trying to hard.
“Well, aren’t you two just the cutest?” his mom smiled, pecking Brian on the cheek.
“C’mon,” Brian said to me, “We have thirty minutes till homeroom and we still have to get our schedules and locker combinations.”
“Okay,” I nodded, waving goodbye to Derek and Mrs. Hemlock and making my way out the door and into Brian’s car.
“Ready?” he asked, as we pulled into the school parking lot.
“Let’s just get this day over with,” I sighed.
He laughed and got out, waiting for me to do the same so he could lock it up.
We walked inside for two seconds before people started engulfing the both of us in hugs.
It was going to be a long day.

Here's another :D Huge Bio test tomorrow. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.
