ONE WORD: RUSK! its a little expensive but it is very powerful for thick hair and gets the job done :D

I have the old wet 2 straight &It works good for my hair, But it's really not healthy for your hair. You can like smell it burning. But if you use products for like heat protection than it works good. :) I have the 1 inch one, But the 2 inch one works much better. You can get the newer wet 2 straight like anywhere, im not sure how good the newer one works.

Chi 1 inch Flat Iron the black one is around $100 but I have thick long hair and it is the most amazing thing ever I will never use anything except my chi. It is most definitely worth the investment! Hope I helped!
