Count the
Change
The warmth in your eyes the meaning
you brought to life
Why did you go, why did you leave by
my side
Did you know how much I cried
waiting for your heart to beat one more time
Shedding my tears for the whole
world to see dreaming you would be here
forever
Was that a
crime?
It was put to the test your
death
Making me question God’s plan
for my life
Did he not know you were my joy, my
hero, my lovely lullaby?
Which I reminded myself every time I
slept at night.
I was lost in the dark without you
to take the part
That I needed to survive in this
thing called life
I come to realize that you served
your purpose here on this earth
But why did my understanding have to
cause hurt pain and withering in shame
When you took your last breath I
wonder what you were thinking of
I wonder if its what you left
behind
Or your eternal
life
All I have is
memories
That would last for a life
time
As you lay in heavens
arms
I’ve tried my hardest to come
where I belong
Your face is engraved in my heart
while
Searching for the purpose of
my life
Just like you I want to be
remembered as someone who changed a life
For their better
start
