Ah poor baby ):
I went through almost the same exact thing! (Actually, I was wondering if I was reading my whole middle school year! Hah)
But, what happened in my situation was he wanted me to make the first move and I wasn't ready for that. So maybe, the guy you like wants you to make the first move. :) Don't know but it's worth the shot.
& If you are going to do that, talk to your friend first. If they really are your best friend, they'll stand down and let you do this :))

if you really like this guy, and he's really worth it, then don't give up. but you have to be careful because if he gets involved with your best friend in any way - he's off limits
